Did anyone think it was sad and depressing?

Stephen Yes, it's a sad tale. But there are nice moments too. In some ways Bree was a background character for us to see what a normal vampiric transition might have been like. Since Bella was not really normal.

Overall I liked the chance to get to know the character.

This book was my favorite out of the entire twilight saga I know it's not exactly part of it, but it still was my favorite.

Hannah The book was a bit melancholy but I LOVED this book because of that fact. There is not always a happy ending. Some people are treated unfairly or are just plain unlucky. The good guy doesn't always win. I'm glad that Stephanie Meyer showed this flip side of the coin.

Eni Well, starting with the idea of Bree is dead in Eclipse for the Volturis, is like read something with the destiny already predicted, very sad in that aspect.
I really hope, while I was reading for a alternative ending, but already know is not posible. I mean a really hope that Bree could escape with Fred, it was the perfect soluction. Very sad... but a good book, i enjoy it.

Sarah it was a lot of things, short, sad and it had the worst ending I thought bree and diego would end up together and run away but I thought wrong

Melissa I just didn't care about any of them, much less Bree.

My personal opinion you can agree or disagree:
If you don't like Bree because of who she is, then why don't you feel the same way about Edward. He killed a lot of people as a young vampire. Granted they were murderers and other people of that sort, but so were the people Bree went after. She had no one to tell her what was going on. Edward might have changed eventually, but it took him time. Bree didn't have that time, and I believe that if she was given the time, she could've adjusted.

Thanks. I try to look at it from every angle, but I honestly can't see the reasoning behind thinking Bree was evil for this reason and still thinking Edward is some sort of superhero. Not to mention the fact that Edward knew about being able to live off animal blood. I mean, I have nothing against Edward, he's a great character, but you can't hold her responsible for what she did because she thought it was the only way to survive, when Edward did the same things while having the knowledge of the "vegetarian" lifestyle.

whoa harsh

oh just a different comment.
I felt that Bella should be with Edward because she loved him and wanted to be with him. I don't really like one better than the other, but I think Bella should have ended up with who she wanted to be with.

hahahhah

Mochaspresso I didn't feel all that sorry for Bree either. Freaky Fred offered her an out and she chose not to take it.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

I think she chose not to take it because of Diego. She wanted to do get him and then go with Fred.

krysta Diego was long gone by then, sadly... She should have known better than to trust Victoria and Riley

Who said no one cared about the rest of the newborns? I'll admit, some of them aren't very likable, but the ones who I don't like are the ones who rip apart the other vampires. A lot of the other vampires just don't care about covering their tracks and don't think about what could happen. Bree does

Jackye Yes, it's sad. But I liked it.

Andrea In my opinion it was very sad.....and horrible I don't understand why they would just kill off brees mate tht could have been a whole nother movie series and they didn't bother to think about that.

Lucy Y Edward, literally exposed himself sparkling. (New Moon) And he is left with a 2nd chance. It's so unfair for Bree. It wasn't her fault she was changed. She deserved to be alive. She layed vulnerably next to Bella, and controlled herself.
