Books on the Nightstand discussion
What are you reading March 2013

Oldest TBR (2009): Downtown Owl
Oldest TBR on my bookshelf: The Time It Snowed in Puerto Rico
Book with the month's number in it: Three Stages of Amazement: A Novel
Newly published in current month: A Thousand Pardons
Random: Office Girl
Booktopia: Safe from the Neighbors, The End of California, The Last Summer of the Camperdowns, A Ticket to Ride: A Novel, Like Family: Growing Up in Other People's Houses: A Memoir
If I am any extra time (HA!), Flight Behavior is next on my list. And I am listening to The Roots of the Olive Tree on Audible (pretty slow/boring so far...).

I'll probably have to put it down for now because we're reading Flashback for book club on Wednesday, and I haven't started yet!

Some are recommendations, some personal choices and some I will review.
However I am sure it will take me longer than March to read all of these books as they are mostly lengthy ones. Yet I am enjoying my reading experience by mixing it up whenever I can with other books along the way, which I'm sure, will also be great books!
UPDATE- Finished reading The Girl Below by Bianca Zander & How To Eat A Cupcake by Meg Donohue (Thumbs up!) , halfway through The End of Your Life Book Club by Will Schwalbe, am reading The Unfinished Journals of Elizabeth D,will read The Dog Stars by Peter Heller
UPDATE- I finished reading The End of Your Life Book Club by Will Schwalbe-it made me cry :(

I loved Sweet Tooth. Hope you do!

I really liked The Art Forger. I hope you do too!

Gerald, I know I'm not Monique, but...
1. Just above your comment box where you type, on the right, it says "add/book/author.
2. If you click on that, a box opens.
3. At the bottom of the are choices to click - either link or cover.
4. If you click on link, you will get a brownish link to the book once you finish your search for a title.
5. If you click on cover, you will get the cover of the book you are searching for.

New here, but just finished When She Woke
after hearing about it quite a while ago on the podcast. Seriously the first book in ages that I simply couldn't put down. I started it last night and finished this evening (thank goodness for spring break). Still in the process of reading Drop Dead Healthy: One Man's Humble Quest for Bodily Perfection
for something a bit lighter!

This must be a Graham Greene month. I have just started The Quiet American.

Bookclub #2 - Lone Wolf by Jodi Picoult
Man Booker shortlists archive- Impossible Object by Nicholas Moseley
Podcast Recommendation - Ready Player One - Eric Cline
Random - City of Fallen Angels - Cassandra Clare

I'm reading The Name of This Book Is Secret on my kindle at lunch.
I'm reading Code Name Verity (an actual book book) in my bed at night.
And I just picked up Tenth of December: Stories from the library.

I did enjoy The Art Forger. I liked the fictionalization of the Gardner theft.
Sarah
Now I am reading The Angel's Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
and a children's chapter book (I teach 4th grade) by Charles de Lint.
It's called The Cats of Tanglewood Forest.
Happy Reading.

-Currently listening to an audio version of The Pyramid: And Four Other Kurt Wallander Mysteries
-And reading Kindle book, Island Beneath the Sea

All these are for my 2013 Reading Challenge, Around the World in 80 Books

I liked about half but the one I loved, really loved, in The Tenth of December was Spiderhead!

I just ordered The End of the Affair. I'm excited!

Cordelia Underwood: Or, The Marvelous Beginnings of the Moosepath League

For any of you who've watched Girls, take three minutes to laugh hysterically at this short my daughter made. http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/312a...

So Gerald, what did you think? I started the Audible version last weekend.
I'm with everyone else that singing the praises of Audible. I listen while I do housework. My house has never been so clean :)

loved this book
Finished listening to Canada
so I perused the library's CD catalog and settled on Bridge of Sighs
but only because no Booktopia that I have not read is available in audio.
I also finished the latest Flavia Speaking from Among the Bones
(another 5 stars to Alan Bradley).
I was notified the e-version of The Paris Wife
so I downloaded and started that.
Now I found out that both The Round House
and The Dinner
are on hold for me at the library. Both I'm eager to read, so I better read fast. (I didn't really want to clear off the dining room table anyway.)
