Indie and Proud discussion

Heidi has brought Listopia Lists to my attention! I've heard about them but never really explored them. Now that she's brought me up to speed, I think this is a great marketing tool. If you vote for your own books, poeople are less likely to take them seriously, so please help out your fellow indie authors by getting their books on these lists and in turn, we will all do the same. I think the best way to approach this is to please post the title of your novel and a general (short) synopsis and maybe the genre :)

And Heidi, (or anyone for that matter) If there is a better way to explain, please do so!

Jessica, this looks great. It also might be helpful to post the lists that you'd like your books to be added to, or are already on so we can add them/vote.

I think this might be a fun way to support each other so I will be keep on eye on this list and add and vote for whoever posts their books and lists!

I am a little confused. Are we creating a new list? Or are we adding them to a list? If so, how do we go about adding them? Heidi, I would like to help you out. Just tell me exactly what I need to do. I am still knew at this site, so even the easiest task takes me a bit to figure out. Haha.

Krista, thanks! I have added 3 Days to the books you listed. The numbers are the current rank on the list, they are the last ones on each list because they're the last ones added. Votes will move them up the list.

However when I double-checked, they aren't showing up on the lists yet, or on your book page. I wonder if this is a caching issue, i.e. they will show up tomorrow? I'll check back.

How do you add a book to a list?
Add the book as a Want to Read book on your book shelf. Then follow the links and select the Add Books to List tab. If you just added the book to your bookshelf it will be the first one and you can select it!

Krista, I have added your book, however they are not showing on your book page or on the lists yet:( although they are showing on the updates on my profile page. I can see my lists are already showing? Not sure what to do? I was on two lists before, hmmm…will continue to check intermittently to see if yours shows up.

Anyone know if there is a delay if you add book to a list?

Cyndi, when you select the link that shows the page with your books on the list, just copy that URL.

Cyndi, check out the links in message 15, a link like that:) when I click on any of those, it shows me with a bright little green arrow which lists I've already voted for that book on. Makes it really easy to keep up!
