As per voted, On the road by Jack Kerouac seems to be a popular choice. It will be the first book of the month! We will start officially on Monday 4th. Hope everyone's doing well!

I haven't managed to get a copy yet, so I will have some catching up to do once I do!

reviews often criticise his writing style but I actually am really enjoying it. Does anyone else have the version with the introduction by Ann Charters at the front? It's really good at explaining why the novel is written in the style that it is (he wrote it in 3 weeks fuelled by lots of coffee and benzhedrine)

I've not read much so far but I'm loving it at the minute, really makes me think my life is wasted stuck in the same place all the time!

I feel that Kerouac's critics are those writers who were content to write about the foibles of wealthy Manhattanites
