I'm about halfway through Nefertiti and I can't put it down. It's really too bad I don't get a lot of time to read or I'd be done with it already.

Kathy (bookgoddess1969) I am currently reading Sons by Pearl S. Buck. This is the sequel to The Good Earth. I love it. I have reread The Good Earth several times and have meant to read the rest of the books in the trilogy and I finally got to it. Sons has the same feel and flavor as The Good Earth, I can't put it down!

message 10: by Deborah (new)

Deborah Stelling (starspring) | 8 comments How was The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane? I've been interested in reading it since it first came out but have other books on my reading table before it, so I haven't made an effort to go get it.

So you're the first person I can ask...is it worth it?

message 11: by Lauren (new)

Deborah Stelling (starspring) | 8 comments I just started The Historic Mary by Michael Jordan I have to say as much as I want to read the book authors such as he disappoint me. I'm not going to spew about why, I'll just say his writing style is a bit pretentious which will make it an unnecessarily difficult read for some.

message 18: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Lynne (babyblueforty5) | 11 comments Just finished Barbara O'Neal's The Secret Of Everything. Took a few chapters to really get into it, but it turned out to be a really good book!

Can I ask what dystopian is? I've never heard of it. Right now I'm reading A Discovery of Witches. It's a slow read but really worth it.

Marc (authorguy) | 26 comments Lauren wrote: "Can I ask what dystopian is? I've never heard of it. Right now I'm reading A Discovery of Witches. It's a slow read but really worth it."

In a dystopia, everything is bad, a possible future scenario in which the the human spirit is ever more crushed, oppressed, and degraded.

message 38: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (bookgoddess1969) I think what's so scary about dystopian fiction is that in most cases it is so close to what our world is like that that's whats so scary! We can see how quick and easily it could get that bad!
