Roxanne Shriver (roxannexshriver) I don't promote it by giving speeches or anything like that, but I feel good about what I do. :)

My whole family is very supportive of equality, so we talk about things like equal marriage, how cruel the media can be, etc.

Two of my best friends are gay, and I hang out with them as well as with the one's girlfriend a lot. If someone says something mean to them about being gay, I comfort them and tell them how those people are just idiots.

On three of my website accounts: - Goodreads, DeviantArt, and Youtube - I stress that I am all for equality and that I don't take any b.s. from haters.

On Goodreads, I join groups that support that sort of thing so that I can talk with other supporters.

On DeviantArt, I write fanfictions about my favorite gay couplings in Animes. By doing that, I spread the message of how sweet gay couples are. Many times I have gotten comments from supporters or from those that are gay themselves, saying that my stories meant a lot to them.

On Youtube, I post tributes for my favorite gay couples in Anime and I stand up for others that are dissed in other videos.

The only website that I don't do any of this is on Wordpress, but that's just because my account is for the book I'm writing and not about any issues in the world, or my view on them.

Lastly, if I hear kids at school discussing their views on gay people, I purposely get involved in the conversation. When asked my own personal views, I tell them that I support it, no matter what their conversation views centered towards, or how many people are around.

Ken (kensamcampo) I try, but in the end I end up feeling not equal to others at school

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

I try, but some people just don't want to listen.

Hayleebee | 94 comments I hope I spread equality. I tell my family off when they get really nasty. Some of my family is getting better at being not so homophobic and racist, the rest are being stubborn.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Brendabel...The French Revolution is Fascinating....but DID YOU KNOW that their inspiration was The American Wars of Independence? King Louis had spent so much supporting the Americans against Britain that the people revolted against him !
Then they pretty much wrote their bill of rights based on the declaration of independence !
Equality with a Twist !

well im gonna be honest here, because if i am allowed to fear certain people due to my experience with them, i am afraid of christians, im sorry but its true. i was abused by some for 10 years.

just like them; using the bible against me. i dont believe in the bible, ok? just let me get that straight. im not directing this at you, just letting people know this in general; i DO NOT BELIEVE IN IT AT ALL I THINK IT IS A FICTION. so i really dont care; people can quote it all they want. ill just quote twilight because i don't believe in it.

moving on; still, i am afraid of them and people like them. i always will be, and i will always be wary

almost every single christian i have come across has been an anti-gay idiot and stuck in their disturbing ways. im gonna stand up for equality until the day i die. i will always be against them and their obsession with a fantasy fiction/ epic hoax. just putting that out there.

message 26: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenreaders) SoRa the MeoWiNg BuNNy CuB wrote: "Please, do.

You know Angelique? Do you hate her? I surely hope not. She is a good christian."

i dont hate her because she is not homophobic and shoving it down peoples throats

message 27: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenreaders) listen, i was pushed around by religious people, partially because of my sexuality, also because i didnt believe in their "religion" and because, yes, that i read vampire books (the devil incarnate woooooooo!) i was told weekly, sometimes more often, that i was evil and wrong and sick. i was hit by my aunt and uncle who are religious idiots/freaks, told that they were gonna pound my face in and to never come home unless i wanted to have my a** kicked. i hate people with any of their "qualities": hence my hate for the religion. and people of it. unless those people are actually good people. which i have hardly come across a handful. but there are some. like angelique.

message 28: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenreaders) SoRa the MeoWiNg BuNNy CuB wrote: "Yes! There are some! And hang on to that!

Now you listen, i read only paranormal/fantasy/vampire books, i even bring them to church. Last week, in fact, i brought along "Interview With a Vampire"..."

well no offence but the way you talk about lgbt people really doesnt help your cause. just saying

seeing as i was abused by idiots who read ancient fantasy novels as if they were historical texts

message 33: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenreaders) of course. they all are. to change and to hate. thats the way it is with some creeps

message 34: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenreaders) then they need to stop acting like they do, and they need to stop taking a novel from 3000 years ago, lost in translation, and twisting its cr*p on everyone else.

just saying. its been used against me so much; if people wanna believe in it, believe in it by yourself and dont push it on others

message 36: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenreaders) sure buddy. sure. you can say that all you want. the ratio of ones that havent to ones that have are about 1:100.

message 37: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenreaders) i was curious about protestant religion, for example, so i asked a friend of the family who was protestant the difference between protestant and catholic and she gave me a 45 minute oral essay on why she was right and everybody else, including other christians, was wrong. and hell, she said a HECK OF A LOT of disturbing shite in those 45 mins. like bloody disturbing, like DISTURBING disturbing.

message 38: by Wren (last edited Feb 28, 2014 11:21AM) (new)

Wren (wrenreaders) and when we went to a little religious play that a church group did, they showed this disturbing video on how a girl's brother had died and they family wasnt christian so the christian friends, instead of telling her he was in a better place and being a normal, kind friend to her, basically told her he was gonna burn in hell forever and that if she didnt become christian she would too and eventually they pressured her to be like them too and the church we went to was trying to say that this was RIGHT.
