Old-Barbarossa | 301 comments Well, I'm storming on with this.
I think we all saw the temple scene coming didn't we?
Maybe not all the details of the betrayal though.
Glad Nimue and Merlin are back in the game.
As messy as things got I think it tied up a lot of things and now wait for the next part.
Still a lot to happen I think. What will happen with Gwen and Lance? Mordred? Arthur's sons? Derfel's hand?
Will Arthur's boys take Derfel's hand in retaliation for the part he played in Arthur's punishment of his rebellious offspring?
Didn't see Derfel's parentage coming.
Anyone else note that when Derfel spoke of the dead he didn't mention Arthur? A foreshadowing of the myth of the sleeping hero?

I'm 3/4 of the way through this. Bernard is making this particularly painful. I know it's coming. As if the death of Dian wasn't enough agony, watching Arthur march to save Gwen is gut wrenching. I don't know how this chapter ends but I think Arthur is about to take the Gwen bomb betrayal right in the bread basket. Gwen!!! Why Gwen!!!?

Of course I'll have to read on to see if my angst is validated.
