1. The Butter Battle Book - This really explored the issue about how ridiculous wars can get and I think this book really sent that message through very well.

Any books written by Patricia Polacco: Patricia Polacco is well known for writing children's books that explores the issues that characters who are of different race or have disabilities face in front of their peers. Probably the best books that explores both racism and prejudice were Thank You, Mr. Falker, Pink and Say, Chicken Sunday, The Junkyard Wonders, and Mr. Lincoln's Way.
