fabby at least because this is the end of travis

Jennifer I feel kind of a mix of disappointment and happiness. I liked the new scenes we got but I wanted more. But then again a lot of stuff was cut out to make room for the new scenes so the relationship felt a bit rushed. But overall I do feel I understood Travis more and enjoyed the book.

fabby rushed that's the feeling i got too i just wanted the intensity you get when you read how they start falling in love and maybe more description

Lisa I was TOTALLY disappointed! More than half the book was the first book regurgitated . There wasn't enough depth and emotion in the new stuff. Ugh, I have been looking forward to this for so long, its so sad to be so disappointed.

Erin Reading now. I'm not sure what you all expected, but the author said it was BD from Travis's POV and that's what it is. You can't have much new, yet we got it. Too much of the same, but you wanted more? I don't think those with that line of thinking would be happy no matter what. It wasn't a sequel. The dialog has to stay the same. Maybe the expectations and anticipation was so high, it can never measure up for some, but I'm enjoying it for what it is. In fact, I might like it more than BD! BD concentrates on the relationship. WD seems to focus on Travis...and that's what they said it would be.

fabby i know this was his POV and that it was the same story but i was expecting ,his description to be more intense because it was to come from him one thing i loved about the book was the end it gave us a peek into the life they made togueter

Jennie Yep, disappointed because I wanted more Travis. I wanted his why, what he did over break, more of his family and what drove him...and I agree the epilogue was the best!

fabby does anybody knows is there will a spin off?

Tammy Bland Trenton's story is next and then Thomas. After the epilogue I am intrigued to read Thomas' story.

fabby Trenton and cami he said she had a boyfriend so we known there will be drama and the one thing we love almost as much as them falling in love its the drama it causes

Rachel Abel-klimala I was counting down the days to this book. I just felt it was rushed, missing passion and nothing new. There were points when I was skipping dialogue because I knew it by heart. This should have been an extended version of BD. Just give us the epilogue and prologue and I could skip the rest. I will read the rest of the Maddox Boy's stories but I am not nearly as excited.

message 12: by Valerie Z (last edited Apr 03, 2013 10:09AM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Valerie Z Overall this book is amazing. But I can't get over the fact that Travis lied to Abby about his job. I know that he just want to keep her safe, but you know I'm a little bit disappointed.

fabby i think it was part of having the job not letting anybody know that she figure it out was just her being abby to his travis

Victoria No, I thought that the balance was spot on! Yes it did seem to skip a bit in places but I think she had to do this to get the extra scenes in with Travis. I personally thought the epilogue was a disaster... To skip 11 years ahead and in such dramatic fashion was a bolt from the blue. I'd have been much happier with more of a tease as to what Travis and Abby's future held.

Warpedmind I wasn't disappointed. I expected the story to stay the same but in Travis POV. That is what the author said at the begin. I love Travis Maddox in BD and this book. But if I read this book before BD, Abby would have been very much disliked. She was a bitch to me in this book. But in the first book you got her POV and you understood why she was that way. All in all I still enjoyed reading Walking Disaster.

fabby yes i would have liked to know how they got there ,but after reading almost the same thing that BD had it was refreshing to read something new about them

Auhmanduh I wasn't so much as disappointed as I was in just saying "oh, ok". The Epilogue was a shock but a great breath of air given that he was so wound up and then to see that he evened out

message 18: by fabby (last edited Apr 03, 2013 12:30PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

fabby i loved him being wound up thats what i wanted in WD same feeling we got in BD when we just started reading about him it was really good and this was just abby POV and when they anounce WD i thought oh god the feelings will be better explained and that will give us a bigger rush ,ok many people dont like twilight but when they read the book and they read midnight sun{edward POV] that should give u some idea of what im talking about of what i was expecting

Itsmebacshi um yeah... i was expecting a continuation of their story in travis POV and more intense since travis is so hot temper and impulsive

message 20: by Liz (new) - rated it 4 stars

Liz Lonsbrough I guess i was just expecting a little more. After such a long wait it was a little disappointing.

Agreed!

Roxanne I was also disappointed and felt it didn't do Travis any justice nor portray who he really is. It was missing him processing his thoughts in so many places and then drug on in others just basically repeating what we got from her POV. BD was full of passion, love, lust, and energy but WD left me wanting the Travis I had made up in my mind and not the one who lacked intensity and passion in his own love story.

message 23: by Bev (new) - rated it 1 star

Bev Disappointed. I felt it was disjointed, with lots left out that should have been in the book - at times I was struggling to believe that Travis in BD and Travis in WD were the same person. It's certainly not a patch on Beautiful Disaster.

message 24: by Book Addict (last edited Apr 04, 2013 04:56PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Book Addict I read BD again (for the 7th time) just before reading WD and found it flowed perfectly. The author could have meshed the two books into one easily, it fit so well together. I was totally expecting to be disappointed so maybe my lower expectations set the awesomeness of the story a bit higher.
ETA I also loooved that TM actually thought/talked//acted like a man might, unlike most female author's attempts at male pov. (I'm not naming names but I will so point at Kristen Ashley if given the opportunity)

I sooo would have kicked Abby's ass if this were the first book.. I was still quite annoyed with her at the same places as before though :D

I would be helping him bury bodies in the back yard before giving up on his hotness!

Dariteone86 I still loved the book. It made me love Travis even more.. Some parts I was hoping for more but the end make up for it!! It made me smile to know that they are still happy together.

fabby yes the ending make it worth the read

Tamera I loved the ending and how the twins were named the same as her fake ID.

Naomi O'rourke I was very disappointed. The best part of the book was the epilogue.

Terri (N.J.) Tamera wrote: "I loved the ending and how the twins were named the same as her fake ID."

Oh god I didn't even realize that!! So cute!

Lorinda Cockrell Erin wrote: "Reading now. I'm not sure what you all expected, but the author said it was BD from Travis's POV and that's what it is. You can't have much new, yet we got it. Too much of the same, but you wanted ..."

My sentiments exactly. At some points I went back to Beautiful Disaster to see how they related to each other.

message 32: by Lea (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lea Not disappointed! I read and loved both books. Now I'm reading them side by side through the story and it is even better! Thank you Jamie Maguire!

Piseog The epilogue was happy in one way, but the sudden change felt abrupt and we were missing too much. It was like this is just the tip of the iceberg and therefore left you unsatisfied.

message 34: by Prim (new) - rated it 5 stars

Prim I actually thought that it will be a sequel from Abby's but its just his POV from scratch. But yes, the ending completed my life. But I still want more :(

Hayley I have to say I did like this book, but felt we still didn't get much different from the original one . However I loved the twins names were her fake id, but still think there could of been lots more from Travis's pov. Worth the read, just to get a little more of Travis x

Stephanie Garza It was ok. Seeing as how it was from his POV, not anything new, but if there is more Maddox family! HELLO that's awesome.

Carolina I was disappointed! I wish the book was a sequel, as the epilogue story started to uncover. I was bored and I was disappointed on Travis as well, I didn't see him as a shell that used booze and anger as a gateway to hell.

message 38: by Kim (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kim I was not that disappointed... I went in expecting it to be the same book though. I guess thats why I wasn't expecting much more...I think that in the first book, Travis came off as a d**ck and in this one he seemed way more normal so I really like him even more. I'm glad they put in a few new scenes...but I would have liked more!! Seems like she could have left out a few of the old parts in the first book too.

fabby yes enough scenes to tie WD to BD but have the book full of new scenes so that it was worth buying it

Karen I really liked Walking Disaster, but if you had not read Beautiful Disaster, you wouldn't have understood half of what was going on. This wasn't a stand alone novel IMO. I had to go to BD several times to remember what was going on, because without Abby's POV she just seemed like a cold hearted bitch. I saw WD in Sam's and thought that someone is going to be very disappointed, because it is more of a companion piece to BD, and can't really stand on its own.

I did love knowing more about what drove Travis, and the anger issues he dealt with. Also, I always wondered what was going through his mind when he considered taking the job with Benny. I thought maybe he was taking it because of some need for acceptance and fame, because in BD he was so giddy about it. It turns out it wasn't that at all, just the desire to provide for Abby, and give her everything she wanted.

Loved the epilogue. Totally unexpected, but awesome. Set up a book with Thomas perfectly.

Loved it overall, but if I hadn't read BD it would not have made sense.

Melissa Blanco I wasn't disappointed at all. I thought that it was going to be another one of those books where the story was EXACTLY the same as the previous one, only changing POV, but it wasn't. Of course, some of the issues were the same as in Beautiful Disaster, but it was also different. I liked it a lot!

Ghada I liked the book very much, and liked all the mixed feeling in it, I loved the epilogue and i was happy to see Travis a family man.

message 43: by Ritu (new) - rated it 3 stars

Ritu I didnt like it all that much as i liked BD

message 44: by Pixi (new) - rated it 5 stars

Pixi I loved the ending, but I hadn´t expected it at all. It was just so sweet with the twins and Travis´ job!!!

Natasha I wasn't disappointed at all but I was surprised....I knew this was from Travis' pov but I thought it was going to carry on from where the last book left off. In saying that though I still loved getting into Travis' head. No so much in the way he thought of some of the girls he "bagged" but his love for Pidge. I still can never understand how a guy loves a girl so much but can still consider bagging another girl. Now I read from other comments there will be other books from the brothers pov's...so can't wait for that.

Jessica I also was terribly disappointed with this book.
1. The scenes that were the same in both BD and WD were EXACTLY the same, like copy, paste, and done the same. I already knew what he said in BD, I needed to know what was going in that head of his as he was talking. I wanted less dialogue more in Travis head.
2. The whole story felt rushed and jumped around so much, it was hard to follow at time. The story felt forced and didn't flow as a whole complete story. Sort of like a compile of short story into one novel.

Things I loved about the book:
1. Travis and the whole Vegas/Benny situation. I loved understanding what was going on in Travis head and it made PERFECT scene. I could imagine how it felt to not hold back after holding back all the time.
2. THE EPILOGUE!!!!!! FREAKING AMMMMMMAAAAZZZZINNNG!!! Who cares about Trent, I want Thomas’ novel.

Scene I wish were in WD.
1. When Abby goes on the date with Parker and comes back and gushes about the date to Travis and he just listens. This is the moment I fell in love with Travis and I just wanted to see what he was thinking.
2. I really wanted to see the night they went to Red and were pulling the boys off of America and Abby. No particular reason, but I wanted to see how it was like when both couples were broken up.

And lastly: Did you guys catch the inconsistency between the two book, of how Travis found out about Abby and Parker going out on a date after Travis and Abby have sex for the 1st time. Did you guys catch any more??

Michele I had a hard time getting through this one, Love Travis and Abby and BD but not sure why it took me a week to read WD. I felt like it was a little dull, and I kept waiting for it to pick up and it seamed like it never did. I was expecting so much more from Travis.

message 48: by Ulla (new) - rated it 3 stars

Ulla I felt like it was a second chance for the author to correct some things of the first book. I guess I would like more if it was about one of Travis brothers

Jennie OMG Jessica you voiced exactly what I thought.......I wanted more insight to Travis.

Cheska I am really disappointed when i read this book. Travis's POV lacks of insights...
