We meet my Dobby in this book, so... :P
Really, though this was an amazing follow-up to Philosopher's Stone. There was the Chamber of Secrets mystery, and we're learning more about Voldemort. I love Harry's courage to go into the Chamber in the first place and fight the Basilisk. Oh, and Lockhart. I love him and I hate him at once!
And Moaning Myrtle! And the Polyjuice Potion! And Aragog! And the flying car! And the Slytherin Common Room! And The Burrow! And Ron, vomiting slugs...!
Basically, this is a wonderful book :)

I really love this book, duh, but I liked it slightly less than The Sorcerer's Stone. Loved it though, five stars, but compared to the other Harry Potters I wasn't as big a fan.
It makes me sound like I don't like it but I DO!! I think because when I was really young - When I read this book - I loved snakes a lot and I thought that Harry Potter was saying all snakes were bad. That was just my silly little mind and I do love this book.

Cady (halfblood26) | 22 comments I found this book to be dragging and a little slow. I loved it, obviously, but it wasn't my favorite. I do love that we get to meet Dobby and Ginny. Dobby is obviously in my top 5 fav. characters. And we get to meet the ridiculous that is Lockhart lol.

Oh my, this book. *sigh* It's the book that really got me to fall in love with the Harry Potter series. It's what got me to fall in love with Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley and the character Harry Potter. This one made me fall in love with it all. Ever since that book, I was so excited to read the rest of the books and see what happened next. I was so excited for everything after I read this book, it's what really started the book out for me, it seemed to pull things together into a better beginning some how. Even if the first book had a better beginning to the story, but I hope that you know what I mean. This was a fantastic book and it had my heart racing through the whole thing. But I must admit that the beginning kind of dragged for me.

Jazzy (stairstepjitters) | 155 comments Dobby is my favorite part of this book, and it furthered the plot and characters, but it wasn't the best of the series in my opinion.

Imogen Reeves (purplegems3) | 16 comments This book was the book I enjoyed the least as I found Dobby to be super annoying especially when he admits to meddling with Harry's post from his friends & closes the gate to Platform 9¾. I did however like the concept of the Chamber of Secrets & Voldemort being the heir of Slytherin.
