In Henry Winterfeld's realistic fiction novel, Detectives in Togas, the mood that best describes the protagonist, Caius, is caring. For example, a strange old man was crossing a street and accidently slipped on water and fell. Caius took action right away and helped him up, as other people walked crossed the old man nonchalantly. Caius also brought the old man home to make sure he won't make another accident. This shows Caius is a caring person because he saw an elder person who he didn't even know was in trouble and he helped him up and also brought him home. This shows Caius's support towards others. Another example is Mucius, Caius's close friend, who was a student that never missed a homework yet in the first trimester, forgot his homework. Surprisingly, Caius noticed Mucius forgot his homework and helped him to maintain his grade by giving his homework and changing the name to Mucius. Mucius was speechless and he just can't thank Caius enough. So, when the Caius shook his head saying that he didn't have his homework, his social studies teacher, Mr. Jefferson, was confused and surprised at him because he was ALWAYS prepared to turn in homework. This shows Caius is a caring person because he seems to care more about other people than himself. Caius wants others to be joyous and he shows that by helping others even if he didn't know who they are. Therefore, this is why I chose this mood as best description of Caius.
The Mood that would best describe the text is that it would be sullen. For example an old women named Mumtaz tells Lakshmi that she is not leaving her until she pays off her family's debt. This shows that the book is gloomy because since Lakshmi can't go anywhere until she can pay of her family's debt and because of that she's as miserable as a young puppy in a dark ally with nothing but garbage to live and eat off of. Another example is that Mumtaz cheats her of her earnings so that she wouldn't leave. This shows that this book is sullen because if the lady keeps on cheating off of Lakshmi she will never have her freedom and reclaim her life.
The mood that I felt the most while reading The Sorceress was excited. For example, one of the protagonist Perenelle who is stuck in the infamous prison Alcatraz and is almost killed. This shows how suspenseful this novel is. Whenever I read something this I get full body shivers. I also hate when this happens because that is one of most important character in this novel if she dies them the whole novel does.Another example is when Nicholas and the twins are about to die and the twins do their magic I get shivers from that too. This means it is very exciting to read and picture what is happening. It's very excited and this is what keeps me for putting down he book.
In the book The Fault In Our Stars by John Green, the mood that I felt most in this book is hopeful. For example, when Hazel found out that Augutus was able to email the author of her favorite book and he replied and said they could come to Amsterdam to meet him. Hazel's parents and her doctors said she couldn't go because of her cancer conditions but she was hopeful and convinced them that it was okay and she got to go to Amsterdam. This shows that Hazel is hopeful about what she wants and thinks for the better. Another example was when Augutus got very sick and stayed in the hospital. Hazel was by his side the whole time and she cheered him up and said that his conditions weren't that bad and that he would get better soon. This shows how Hazel is hopeful to other people besides her self. Hazel hoped that Augutus would be better because she really loved him.
The mood that best describes my book Bullyville gloomy. For example the main character Bart's father died in the 9/11 twin tower attack and he is very upset and depressed. This shows that the mood is gloomy because of the tragic accident that happened to Bart's father. Another example is Bart having to face this tragedy and overcome his depression and have to learn to face the facts and move on. This shows that Bart has to move on and forget about the past and escape this gloomy mood that he is in at this point in his life.
In the book, Hot Hand, the mood that best describes Billy (protagonist) is confident. For example, when Billy got sprains during his basketball match, he was in no condition to play more basketball, but he believe in himself and continue playing for the team. This shows that Billy will not stop at a task until he get it done, no matter what. Another example, when Billy became worried that he is not going to make it to the finals, he couldn't concentrate. Billy couldn't concentrate in school or gym, but Billy didn't let basketball interfere in his life, so Billy decided to move on and prepare for the finals. This shows that Billy don't let anything get in his way no matter how worried he is.
In Shaquille o'Neal's autobiography, Shaq Uncut, the mood the author establishes is an eager, anticipating mood that makes the reader want to continue reading. For example, when he talks about the time period in which he is traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, he makes the text in the chapter interesting by sharing experiences, exciting moments, and struggles he had, making the reader eager to continue on reading. This shows that instead of only explaining what had occurred, he added in more detail and events to keep the chapter flowing. Another example is that Shaq kept the reader in a state of anticipation and excitement, by not only writing about his basketball career, but wrote just as much about his off-season life and what he did when he was off the court in his free time. This shows that Shaq covered a wide range of topics about his life. Including many subjects and events is a key factor to keep the reader in an eager mood to continue any book. Therefore, I chose that the mood Shaq establishes throughout the book is a eager, anticipating mood.
The mood that I felt while reading Dark Eden is creeped out. For example it talks about how peoples soul's get stolen from walking into this errie house called Fort Eden. This shows that my book is creepy becuase there is only one cure to get everybody's soul's back and the cure is fear. Another example is that over the house and only over the house is that it is always a shadow or very dark even when it's sunny it sill has a giant shadow over the house there are not even any trees that are over the house. This shows that the book Dark Eden could make you have a errie feeling.
