I never would have never thought of making the bridge into a portal! It's a nice twist on the Brother's Grimm. Almost reminds me of this show called Once Upon a Time.

I swear i remember watching an episode of Supernatural like this, you just gave me complete deja vu. I love the tone and fractured structure.

It’s quite funny, really—after everything I’ve gone through, I still always come back to this place. Maybe it is because of the old, damp bridge, or the fact that the reeds lining the riverbed match the shade of my frizzy red hair. Either way, I love this place. I love the gloominess that dwells here, the fact that, no matter what, I can always come, and Darkness will always be here to welcome and comfort me.
Darkness is a queer young girl. She’s very bright, vibrantly imaginative, and cunningly deceiving. Her curious eyes gaze at me as I enter her realm.
“I’m back,” I say.
Did he hit you again?
Shaking my head, I answer, “He’ll never do that again.”
A smirk stretches Darkness’ lips. She won’t forgive you this time.
I shiver, then reply, “I’m not going back. I’m here to stay.”
She blinks her eyes. One, two, three times. Follow me. Darkness scampers down into the river, and skips out of sight.
Immediately, I slide down into the river. Its water greets me in an icy embrace, and I shiver once more.
For a moment, I wonder if I should turn back. Go back to the only home I have ever known. Because, even though I love it here, Darkness has turned me into something else.
But my heart says, This is my home now. And that instinct alone is correct, for this is, indeed, my shelter.
I know myself here.
Here!
I walk up this river with no doubt. Nobody understands my life. Nobody understands me. I am a mistake, something made when God ran out of erasers. Something unforgiveable. Something extraordinsrily beautiful, yet something totally derranged and horrifying. I am something real. Something that no humans plan to know. Yet when I meet them, each and every one of them, their lives are changed forever. It's as if I poison them as I gaze upon their features, as if I boil their bones until there's nothing left but waste. As if they've been touched by demons. The Devil himself. Only it's me. Not the devil. Not a demon. Me. And as I see this bridge before me. Of a new light. A new perspective on what I am, I follow the path in hopes it will lead me to something else real. Not something human.

Deliciously evil and dark. Definately an attention grabber

"Hello?" I ask wearily, knowing exactly the answer that would come.
"G'day, luv."
"It was good until you planted the bridge here for me to find you... Again."
"Oh, but luv, you will always find me! I'm you!"
"No! No! NO! You will never be me!" I exclaim as I finally bring myself to look into the eyes of someone who has been trying to take over my life for years -- someone who looks exactly like me in every way.
My doppelganger who came from the river when I was 13 and has been appearing to me as much as possible ever since them, trying to get me to jump into the river of my own free will. After that, this in-between world will disappear, leaving me wherever the river leads to and her in my life. Forever.
"Oh, luv, just jump!"
Then, for the first time and last time, I listen and jump into the river's powerful current, never to return again.

so does that mean tomorrow we get the results thaen?"

The forest is a realm of beauty, but it can also be a scary place.Think thriller, fear, mystery! What is this girl thinking? Does she have supernatural abilities? Or is she just crazy? Create a connection between this eerie bridge and the red-haired enigma. Good luck and happy writing!
