JK Rowling has supposedly said she might be making a Harry Potter prequel. What do you think? Should she make one? Or would this take away from Harry's world? Opinions?

message 2: by Christy (new)

Christy Markowski | 2 comments I loved how she finished the series! Personally I don't even know I would read the prequel. I mean.....of course I have unanswered questions but I don't know if writing a prequel would be the best thing.

message 3: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (rjscottie) She made a short story. about James and Sirius XD it was so funny...

Yoel Ben David | 5 comments Masterpieces should be left alone. She should write another series with a different character. Perhaps another group of friends?

message 8: by no one (new)

no one | 7 comments I would soooo defineltley read it, but I'm worried that it would somehow take away from the original series....anyone get what i'm saying?

I understand that. I think a prequel about James and Sirius and all of them would be very cool and I might read it, but I'm also afraid it might make the original series less... magical or original in a way, you know?

I feel like we all dreamed up our own versions of those characters. We each pictured their personalities a little differently. I really want to read the entire harry potter series from dracos's point of view

I agree. We each precieve the characters a bit differently. And Draco's POV might be cool! I always wanted to hear more of the story from Hermione though.

I feel like we'd get a lot of library scenes from Hermione's POV, which isn't a bad thing.

Harry: We've checked the entire library(or something like that)
Hermione: Not in the restricted section. Goodbye, merry christmas

Ron: We've been a bad influence on her
Literally the most awesome scene in the sorcerer's stone :D

Haha! I loved that part. We would get a lot of library scenes from her, which isn't at all bad. I also think it would be cool to see Ron and Hermione's relationship building from her POV.

message 14: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (rjscottie) Yeah it would....

message 15: by Daria (new)

Daria (dariarp) If she does, it would be about Snape and Lily and the Marauders, which would be TOTALLY AWESOME!!!! I would definitely read it!!!

GlitchObsession-Eridan's Matesprit (DontlaughIknowwhereyoulive) YES! I am Snape's official girl friend! I would be the first to read it!

message 17: by Nelly (new)

Nelly She recently said "it was very unlikely." So depressing!

Riley (DawnFire108) | 119 comments I hate it when authors stretches out their series. it makes it seem like nothing ever goes right...

message 19: by Daria (new)

Daria (dariarp) Like The Moral Instruments :\ *throws up* They were amazing, up until she decided to make the TRILOGY have 6 books.

See, I want to read TMI but I hear it's really drug out. Even my mom stopped reading after the fourth book, and she hardly ever stops reading series. I want to read TID since it's supposed to be better, but it seems like you'd have to read TMI to get TID.

Daria (dariarp) Yeah, you should... The fourth and fifth book were EXTREMELY frustrating, so I suggest just read City of Bones, Ashes and Glass, and that will be good enough to understand the Infernal Devices. The first three are AMAZING!!! Some of my favourite books ever!!!
For me, I read Clockwork Angel first(because I didn't know it was a prequel), and then I read Mortal Instruments 1-3, and it still all made sense.
I'm rambling, sorry. :P

No, I ramble a ton too! :P
I own the first four books from when my mom read them, so maybe I'll give them a go then read Clockwork Angel. Or maybe I'll just read Clockwork Angel first :) Thanks for the tips!

message 23: by Celia (new)

Celia (menel-char-pippin-ronald-sasha) I don't know... I don't think I want her to... It would be interesting and I would read it yes... but like, would it really -for a lack of a better word- improve the series?

The Infernal Devices are SO much better than the Mortal Instruments, although they're both pretty good. Read all of them, you won't regret it :)

message 25: by Mary (new)

Mary Leversen (sixteen_candles) | 6 comments It would be AMAZING if she wrote a prequel. I don't know about you, but I can never get enough of Harry Potter. We should all trust her on not ruining the series, I mean, shouldn't we trust her after all seven amazing books?

message 26: by Mayuri (new)

Mayuri | 48 comments I agree Mary. I mean, nobody ever said,"should I read the seventh book 'cause it just might ruin the other six books for me." If anybody heard that they would think that that was just plain weird. So yeah, I would love to read the prequel. Also there was this Harry Potter undergraduate course that Western is going to give next year. Only problem is is that I have got 5 more years of school before I go to university.

message 27: by Nikita (new)

Nikita | 989 comments I don't know...I would want to read the prequel, but I'm not sure if it'll clash with everything else..hmmm

message 28: by Renee (new)

Renee I agree with Damieka way way way up there. ^
I think a Maurauders and Sirius and Lily would be a cool prequel. And it definitly wouldn't take anything away from the series as it is at the moment.

message 29: by Riley (new)

Riley (DawnFire108) | 119 comments I would be okay with it if it was just like the marauders while they where at school and the trouble they got in. but if it was full blown, like they were solving major problem each year like harry, then id be upset.

message 30: by Nikita (new)

Nikita | 989 comments I change my mind...bring on the prequel! :D

message 31: by Grace (new)

Grace | 5 comments I would totally read a series about the Marauders. I would almost PAY JKR to write it. The like the Marauders' story almost more than Harry's generation. That would be soooo awesome.
