Not my favorite excuse, but it seems to be the biggest culprit.

I only write well early in the morning. So if I can't write between 5-7 am why bother.

I agree. It's a challenge juggling writing and marketing. I can't seem to find the balance.

There's only one excuse for not writing and it's legit... I have to earn a living, so my clients/students/obligations to the Institute take priority. That's why I write so often in the wee hours of the morning. That's the only time the phone doesn't ring.

I'm too busy reading to write.

My excuse is also spending too much time marketing the first book. Lately, watching the news.

I have a great opening and don't know where to go after the first 10 pages. That's a super excuse for not writing :)

That's a tough one, Charlie. Maybe you just need a break like we all do sometimes. That's when I go hiking or fishing. It's also the reason I started my podcast blog at http://writersalive.com last year. Interviewing other authors encouraged me after awhile and I met some really cool people who continue to inspire me now.
