I was thinking we could use this group to read through a book and then discuss it with each other. Does that sound like something any one else would like to do?

If we start reading something as a group, let's throw out a few ideas on something we could read.

I'll start, with a couple of choices:

The Yellow Birds http://www.amazon.com/Yellow-Birds-No...

The Middlesteins http://www.amazon.com/Middlesteins-No...

Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Show http://www.amazon.com/Billy-Lynns-Lon...

The Name of the Wind (I've read this one, but I think it's great) http://www.amazon.com/Name-Wind-Kingk...

Anyone else interested in doing a shared reading experience? What other books do you think we should consider?

Matt (mattstauffer) | 9 comments I'm definitely in. Our original conversation started because I was asking for book recommendations. I've never heard of any of the above, so, I'm flexible.

Problem is: I have a 7-month-old, so reading time is not high on my list. I don't know how well shared reading accounts for differences in scheduling? But I'd love to try to make it work..

I didn't get an email, but I saw those recommendations Steven. I'm good with either of those. Do you have a preference between them?

Matt- We can play with the schedule for each book to have manageable chunks between discussions.

We could jump in a Hangout and discuss once a month maybe?

Matt (mattstauffer) | 9 comments Yah, I didn't get the email either. :/

This all sounds great. Thanks for flexibility!

I vote A Canticle for Lebowitz, just because it's a bit shorter and we should all be able to finish it in less than a month. It checks in at around 330 pages.

Matt what do you think? You're moving soon, so what's the best time table for you?

Matt (mattstauffer) | 9 comments Good memory! I'm moving next Wednesday so I should either bow out for the first book, or ask for us to start up in the second week of May. Let me know what's best for y'all.

Susie | 2 comments Can I join? It used to be boys only...
I also vote A Canticle for Lebowitz
But Steve has to slow down his reading.
