Bethany (justbethany) Wool Omnibus by Hugh Howey is the book we decided to start off our recreated group. Here is the summary from amazon.com:

In a ruined and toxic landscape, a community exists in a giant silo underground, hundreds of stories deep. There, men and women live in a society full of regulations they believe are meant to protect them. Sheriff Holston, who has unwaveringly upheld the silo’s rules for years, unexpectedly breaks the greatest taboo of all: He asks to go outside.

His fateful decision unleashes a drastic series of events. An unlikely candidate is appointed to replace him: Juliette, a mechanic with no training in law, whose special knack is fixing machines. Now Juliette is about to be entrusted with fixing her silo, and she will soon learn just how badly her world is broken. The silo is about to confront what its history has only hinted about and its inhabitants have never dared to whisper. Uprising.

Bill (blockeisu) | 2 comments I finished reading the second part of the series called "Shift". If you enjoy Wool, you will really enjoy the second part of this series.

✨ Star Shine✨ (starrshine773) | 6 comments I absolutely fell in LOVE with this book the first 10 minutes. It's my new favorite book. =) I haven't' completely finished yet, but like the rest of the book, I read with a slack jaw, wide eyes and after almost every chapter, a "holy...... S***!" =) And good luck at when you think you've figured things out, because as soon as you do, BAM, .. totally goes in a different direction. love love love it! Anybody else in love with book as much as me?

✨ Star Shine✨ (starrshine773) | 6 comments But I read this book based on the back of the book only saying, "What would you do if the world outside was deadly, and the air your breathe could kill? And you lived in a place where every birth required a death, and the choices you made could save lives- or destroy them. THIS IS JULES'S STORY. THIS IS THE WORLD OF WOOL." I found it at Walmart, and decided blindly to give it a shot. Oh my! How i was NOT disappointed!!

Sharon Toler I read Wool Omnibus last year and loved it. Since then I have read First Shift: Legacy and Second Shift: Order which are equally good. These books where so different from anything else I've read, and for me that is saying something.

Bethany (justbethany) Hi guys!

We're getting closer to the end of the month and hopefully, you're all doing better than me and further than half-way through the book. Anyway, I had a few questions about the book and I'd like to know what you thought. They relate more to the beginning of the book, only because the other questions I have, I think will reveal themselves later on in the book and I don't want to ruin the story for myself, or anyone else who hasn't completed it.

What was your initial reaction to the cleaning, how the technology was used, and the outside world?

When we revisited the outside world with Jules, how was your reaction different?

Would you want to read his other books First Shift: Legacy and Second Shift: Order for a monthly read in upcoming months?
