It's horrible. And this is why peace is not achievable right now: people are too greedy, and will never bend or compromise. Sigh.


It's normal to want to go above and beyond. I love the idea of human augmentation and would jump at the chance to be augmented. Assuming the bugs are worked out, of course.

I know what you mean, but it's always irked me when people try to play God. Death is death, and life is life. It makes me uncomfortable to go beyond.

Isn't lasik surgery pretty much the same thing? I think if you get lasik you do one eye at a time to make sure you don't go completely blind too.

If they don't like augmented vision then they can simply not augment their vision. That's like saying because I don't like peaches no one should eat them. I'd be more worried about people with x-ray vision being a major privacy issue.

But I still feel uncomfortable having people 'play God'. I think we should just leave things as they are...

Then what about surgery, take legs for people who don't have them, ect? Is that "playing god" too?
I think we should strive for the very highest in the field of science and not have anything hold us back.

I agree. We've been "playing God" for awhile now....no reason to stop now.
