;) Kay, I'll give it my best shot, D man.

Peter perched himself on the roof of the Daily Bugle, toes having just enough room to peek over the edge and view the life circulating below him. It was busy and it was congested. And it was a Saturday. Funny how life still went on, even on the weekends.

Peter twisted around from his hunched position and grinned from behind his mask. "So you found me," He said, amused. "I was trying to blend in." He gestured to a stone gargoyle seated a few paces down the roof in virtually the same position Spidey had just been in. Peter stood gracefully, as if there wasn't a 300 foot drop behind him, and crossed his arms as he reguarded DeadPool. "What have you been up to?"

Peter heaved a playful sigh, but didn't move as he came closer. "Okay, one, spiders are arachnids," He said, nodding once as if to virtually mark his point. "Two, I asked you first." He smirked back.

message 6: by Celine☆ (new)

Celine☆ | 3852 comments Mod
Peter narrowed his eyes slightly. If he had an embarrassing nickname, he didn't want it to have a catchy ring like 'bug boy'. 'Arachnid boy' would probably stand less of a chance at surviving as his legacy. "Cool." He replied simply at the mention of scattered jobs. "Sounds like... Fun and money."

Peter shrugged, glancing down at his feet briefly as he rocked back on his heels. "Yeah," He said, tone saying that he had already given the topic some thought, and found no appealing conclusions. "Well, I mean, it's not that bad..." Pausing, he reflected on that. "Okay it's pretty bad, but it's all I can do. All I can do to help."

Peter turned and crouched beside him, smiling back briefly. "So suddenly you like to hang out with the trash of New York?" He said, raising an eyebrow although he said it as light as can be. It was kinda nice to have someone to hang out with after all this time...

It almost passed Peter by without him even noticing. Then he got it. "Huh?" His head snapped up and he looked around at him. "What?" Maybe he heard wrong. But then, somehow he hoped he didn't.

Celine☆ | 3852 comments Mod
The eyes of Peter's suit narrowed slightly as he studied Deadpool, an impossibly small smirk on his face. He could tell the guy was grinning, even if he couldn't see it. So he hadn't heard wrong after all. "Uh," His smirk widened slightly as the idea of what was mentioned just sank in. "Did the notorius Deadpool just make a pass at me?"

message 11: by Celine☆ (new)

Celine☆ | 3852 comments Mod
Peter blinked, but kept his ground even though Deadpool was so close. Why would he want to back off? "I think you did," He said simply, but didn't continue, not really knowing where to go with the 'conversation' after that. He watched the other's movements carefully, gadging how to react.

"Hey," Spider-Man turned around as he slapped him and smirked invisibly from behind his mask. "This is my roof. I was here first. You can't just shoo me off. Besides," He mirrored him by crossing his own arms. "It's been quiet."

message 13: by Celine☆ (new)

Celine☆ | 3852 comments Mod
Peter watched him run off, a little haughtily. The guy had a way of ticking him off and turning him on at the same time. An evil combination. Climbing atop a radio tower, he watched Deadpool from a distance, contemplating following just for the hell of it. Of course the mercinary could handle himself, but it might be fun to bug him a little more. Heh, bug him a little more. That wasn't funny. He crossed his legs and listened to the alarm quietly.

message 14: by Celine☆ (new)

Celine☆ | 3852 comments Mod
It quickly got boring. He wasn't necissarily one to require constant stimulation, but if there was an opportunity to bug Deadpool... Maybe it was worth moving. Turning up his wrist he slung off onto the roof of the next building and started over, taking his time. Probaby just a domestic thing.

message 15: by Celine☆ (new)

Celine☆ | 3852 comments Mod
The car burst into flames just as Peter reached the roof of the bank. He inadvertantly winced as he felt the heat even from his high position. Maybe not a domestic thing after all... He slung down, keeping his senses in check. Immediately his reflex was to shoot at the Doctor, so that was what he did. A line of webbing wrapped itself around the man, awkwardly encompassing his mechanical arms and attempting to hug them to his body. While this happened, Peter looked around to assess the situation. The car, thankfully, was being put out by capable officals. One immediate threat nullified.

He hadn't really expected them to stay anyhow, but still, there was a certain amount of disappointment that came with it. Even as the Doctor picked the vehicles off the ground, his senses went off. "Hold it - !" Peter threw his arms up into the air, as if in surrender, then suddenly left the ground; using his web to attach himself to a lamp post above. The cars flew by and demolished half of the insurance building behind him, but he was too busy to realize the irony. " - You missed." He finished smugly, eyes darting around to figure out a strategy. There wasn't much of one readily available. Brawn it was. Maybe if the guy got a little closer... It was difficult to fight with Oct. from a distance, so he just perched and stared at him, mentally running a check what sort of cartidges he had on him at the time. Even if the man chose to run, Peter felt up to a chase. Octavious wasn't the most stealthy of criminals.

message 17: by Celine☆ (new)

Celine☆ | 3852 comments Mod
Immediately, Peter stopped. This just got a lot more complicated. Carefully, not taking his eyes off the Doctor, he quietly jumped off the post and landed on the asphalt silently. Maybe, if he had been ruthless, the kid wouldn't matter as much as she did. Being as he was, however, his priority had completely changed. He knew villain was corrupted, but not enough to kill despite surrender. Yet, it couldn't be a bluff. "Okay," He held up his hands, palms towards the Doctor. "Okay, deal, let her go,"

((It's really hard for me to remember Spider-Man 2... I haven't seen it in years. :P But yeah, I remember loving him anyway. The Doc. from the movie is, of course, much more evil than from the TV show.))

((I should get that movie again. I miss it. Andrew Garfield, who's in the new movie, was pretty poor at Peter Parker, I think. He was way too cool for the role. ;) Lol. I think the guy who played Doc Ock was pretty good, because I remember being afraid of him. :P))

((Oh yeah. He was perfect.))

Peter's head snapped up as the Doc threw the people into the air, sparing only a crucial moment to spot them. He didn't even have enough time to think about the villain, springing off the ground, ricocheting against the wall, and leaping as far as he could into the air. Suddenly, he was extraordinarily glad he had reloaded while on the way to the crime scene. Extending one arm towards the nearest victimee, he attached a single strand of webbing to their back (which was more than enough), and shot onto the end of a billboard with his other, free, hand - flipping over to combine the two lines easily. Scrambing up the web he had created, Peter clung with his feet and used both hands to snatch the people out of the air like one would catch fish out of the water; combining their lines with the one he held onto. It took a matter of moments, having a close call with the last one, having only grabbed her a split second from impact.

Perched upside down (that's the only way to cling to a vertical web, duh), Peter finally took a breath as he surveyed the distruction below, now devoid of any octopus-men there might have been. Slowly swinging back and forth a hundred feet or so with his rescues chums from the ground, Spider-Man fumed. Oh it was on.

Celine☆ | 3852 comments Mod
((I would SHIP THAT SO HARD. Isn't it the Insidious Six? xD))

Peter turned and climbed up his web to the billboard, knowing it was useless to go after the Doctor now. He slowly let the victims down onto the sidewalk, and then disappeared, slinging as far away from the scene as he could. That was a mess... Not good for his already crappy reputation. He could see it now, the new headline for the Daily Bugle: Spider-Man, a bungling menace, or Spider-Man, an interfering menace, or something like that. JJ really needs to extend his vocabulary beyond 'menace'. Finally a good distance away, Peter rested on the roof of a warehouse, tired and sick of failing. But then, everyone was sick of failing. He just had more at stake. Yanking his mask off now that no one was around, he balled it up in his hands and then stretched it out, over and over again.

((Was it? I only know from the cartoons and Wiki. :P And yeah, Insidious Six sounds way better.))

Peter looked up, kind of surprised at hearing Deadpool all of a sudden. His senses hadn't gone off because he wasn't a threat. Shrugging, he looked back down at his hands. "You could say that," He murmered, frowning slightly. "You got wind of it pretty quick."

message 24: by Celine☆ (new)

Celine☆ | 3852 comments Mod
Peter gave the smallest of laughs and nodded. "Yeah." He said, then winced. "You saw all that? Man I messed up." He put his hands up onto his face and pressed his palms into his eyes. "Maybe they're right. Maybe I should just... Stay away and leave everything to the police." Although he felt awful, the words were empty and he knew it. Peter wouldn't be able to live with himself if he gave up being a vigilanty, but his confidence needed to be worked on...

"I don't - " It took him by total surprise. Peter was at first rigid against him, but as he realized what exactly was going on he slowly relaxed. Not only did he relax, he began to kiss him back.

Peter blinked and leaned back a little, feeling sudden heat begin to crawl up behind his ears. Flustered, he looked away for a moment, trying to figure out how to... React. "Uh, no, Wade, it's... It's fine." He swallowed, finishing his sentence quietly. The corner of his mouth twitched with a flickering smile. "It's fine."

"Well," Peter reached up awkwardly, pressing a hand to the back of his own head as he responded. "It made me feel a hell of a lot better, if that's what you mean." He grinned softly, not meeting his eyes.

Peter just stood there and blinked for a long time, slowly reeling in his scattered wits and piecing them back together. That did not just happen... Glancing down, his mask lay crumpled at his feet. Damn it, Wade. He reached down and picked it up, slipping it over his head securely. "Hope you're right, Deadpool." He murmered, then reloaded and slung off into the street. He had a vague idea of where the Octopus hid.

Peter slowed as he neared Ock's hideout, landing lightly on the ground and began to check out the area. He just needed to find the enterance...

Celine☆ | 3852 comments Mod
He kept his eyes searching for manholes. There was always an enterance through a manhole... Straining his senses, Peter stopped and listened. Perking when he noticed the sound, he looked down and realized his was standing over the manhole. Disappearing inside, Peter crept along the passageway, following the distant noises.

"Genius needs to learn how to use his indoor voice." Peter crawled up along the wall and twisted around, shooting a ball of webbing at the man's face.

Spidey darted aside each time with ease, flipping up onto roof and scuttling across. He paused, kicking aside a tentacle as it came too close. "Geeze. Just 'hello' would be nice for once." He grumbled, simply knocking another tentacle away as he clung above Ock. The project fom across the room caught his eye slightly. "What exactly are you doing down here?" Better know just in case he had created more crap that needed solving.

Peter gasped, stiffening under the Doctor's grip. Crap cap crap... He had been in this situation before, and it wasn't pretty any time you looked at it. He shifted, trying to get his arms up inbetween the tentacles, but they were forced hard to his sides. He lowered his head and groaned, beginning to lose his air.

Peter made a noise between a yelp and a moan as he felt his arm shatter. Strobe lights played in the back of his eyes as his mind contemplated passing out. His strength, along with his wind, was totally gone now, as well as his web shooters. Why the hell do you get yourself into these things, Spidey? Guess Deadpool was wrong. He couldn't handle himself. "I - " Peter choked out. "I r...really-hate-you."

Peter struggled under the wreckage, but soon found himself pinned. For crying out loud, were people really going to find him like this? Broken and stuffed under heaps of rubble? Unless he suddenly got his strength back, and quickly, they were. He had a spider's proportional strength, and a head for everything. This wasn't so difficult of a situation. But then Spidey shifted and felt his broken arm pinch under a column. The pain shot up his arm and nearly made him pass out again. He struggled, breathing in concrete dust through his mask as he kept turning. His foot slipped out of lock, but his arm was still pinned. Ripping it out, Peter shook the rubble off and held his arm close to his side to keep it from moving. It was mutilated, skin shredded from being ground under the rock, and was bleeding profusely. "No one," He rasped. "Makes fun of my comebacks."

((I'm just going to have Peter make a run at him. :P))

Peter darted out of the way each time, but granted, a lot slower than usual. He grazed by an arm, resulting in a new scrape. However, Spidey was too focused on his target to even notice. Seeing a sudden gap, he raced for Ock. Ducking under a tentacle as it swung around, he hit the Doctor head-on with all his weight backed by his remaining strength; which, even by human standards, was a lot.

message 42: by Celine☆ (new)

Celine☆ | 3852 comments Mod
Peter staggered after hitting the Doctor, shaking his head to clear his thoughts. The blades whirred and he stepped back, swallowing as they came a little too close for comfort. Still gripping his broken arm, he ducked under them again, this time heading for the man's legs.

Celine☆ | 3852 comments Mod
Spidey smashed into the wall with crushing force. Once more, bits of concrete rained down on him and covered him in more dust and bruises. Well, maybe more than bruises. Gasping dryly as he slid down onto the floor, Peter squeezed his eyes closed. How was he going to explain this damage to him? But he couldn't stop now. He couldn't leave. Maybe just a moment of quiet... His eyes remained closed as he regathered his strength.

message 44: by Celine☆ (new)

Celine☆ | 3852 comments Mod
Bad arm dangling uselessly beside him, Peter suddenly tried twice as hard to escape the Doctor's grip now that his identity was threatened in such a way. His legs kicked fruitlessly and he squirmed, but was unable to escape in any way. He was too weakened, and too bound to even think of getting away. His web shooters were even broken. "No-" He choked again, but was cut off.

Celine☆ | 3852 comments Mod
Peter collapsed to his knees, wheezing as air rushed back into his lungs. He didn't even notice Deadpool until he had actually whispered into his ear. Then Spidey looked up and shoved his head away with his good arm. "Sh...Shut up." He breathed, trying to get back onto his feet. "You're so late."

Right. Now Deadpool was here, but how could he help? He was open to suggestions. His arm was ready to freaking fall off after all the damage it had taken, and his webshooters were boken. Basically all he could do now was... Stick to the wall. Pathetic. Maybe if he could fix his shooters he could do SOMETHING. Crouching behind a fallen pillar, Peter flipped the edge of his glove open and grimaced when he saw the damage. Well... It wasn't too bad. He flipped a piece back into place and began to feverishly tinker away in the shadows. He didn't want to see Deadpool battle that crazy bast@rd alone. The very last thing he wanted was to have him hurt. His feverish tinkering became desperately fast as the idea sank in.

Celine☆ | 3852 comments Mod
Peter slammed his fist into his palm twice, feeling the metal of the device press into his hand roughly. No solution was coming out. He punched it again, and heard a click. Carefully, he tried it. A ball of web shot out and glued itself firmly to the pillar infront of him. Finally. Spider-Man stood, ignoring the hollowness in his legs and aimed. Thank God the Octopus had his back turned. He had a perfect shot. "Ready," He murmered quietly, squinting. "Aim," his fingers were poised over the trigger. "Fire." Pressing the couple fingers to the pad of his palm, the webbing fluid shot out like a grace and attached itself to the base of the Doctor's mechanical arms, sticking itself into the joints and stiffening the metal. Peter had changed his cartidges to a new formula. Whether it worked or not, it was all he could really do.

Peter was bracing himself as the Doctor rushed towards him, pretty sure he was unable to fight back at the moment. As he suddenly left the ground and met the magnet above with a loud CLANK, he stopped and slowly opened his eyes, looking up to stare at furious Ock; now immobile.

Peter looked over at Deadpool, swallowing. "Oh yeah," He said quietly, voice a little rough. "Fine." He frowned and turned away, his arm jutting at a very unnatural angle. Although he was incredibly grateful to Wade, immeasurably infact, he felt incompetent. He had to be saved, because he couldn't handle himself. He didn't want to admit it, so he was being stubborn.

Peter winced as his arm was moved, but didn't say anything. Usually he would rebel against being carried and walk by himself, but at the moment feeling as if he were about to pass out any second was a great thing to push aside pride. "Kay..." He murmered, head drooping as he took a ragged breath. "Man I... Wish I had your healing... Thingy..." He trailed off and promply passed out.
