I stupidly wore these today:

out of excitement for summer. Heavy backpack + cute shoes = blisters.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I can't blame you for wanting to wear summery clothes, Sally. It was in the 70s here over the weekend, and I immediately pulled out my flip-flops.
Heaven!

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

I've given up tights. It's bare legs from here until Fall! I don't care if it snows next week.

message 4: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I hate foot blisters. That's why I never wear cute shoes like those.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments No more snow!!!

:::knocks on formica:::

message 6: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Wow. Those are like the boots Kiss used to wear, except with less glitter. I'm with Larry on this one.

I'm in the "not wear a jacket" mode, even if not wearing a jacket is slightly unreasonable:)

message 7: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments It's supposed to be...let me check...76 here tomorrow...

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments :::considers moving back to Texas for the warmer temps, remembers the bugs, and reconsiders:::

message 9: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Yup, Jackie, -- and everything is bigger in Texas.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I know, Larry. Belt buckles, trucks, hats, egos, and humidity levels...

message 11: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) And buuuuuuugs.

message 12: by Lori (new)

Lori Yep, here in the PNW it was so nice I almost put my wool coats and down comforter away. It's a good thing I didn't, because it went back down to the 40s for a coupla days. Started out in the 40s today, and I'm not sure what temp it is now, but it's getting warm again, so rah rah rah.

But as soon as it's really warm again I'm pulling out the spring clothes and will stubbornly pack away the winter in pure willfullness, daring those weather gods to pull a fast one again.

But big owee to blisters, painful feet.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Big old flyin' cock-a-roaches that my cats didn't even want to mess with... Ugh.

message 14: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Jackie's cats are wimpy.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments They're just picky about what they eat, RA. Cockroaches have a nasty chewy texture, apparently. Based on what my cats have said after accidentally eating them, of course.
And my own stomping experiences. I really hated trying to squish those things. Bleah! Bleah!!!

I'm disapointed that this thread is no longer about me.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments What are you going to wear tomorrow, Sally?

message 18: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I bet you looked really good in those shoes, Sally.

I have a new outfit to wear tomorrow, but I'll probably be back to Danskos.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Hopefully not involving a certain stinky sweater, Sally?

message 22: by Lori (new)

Lori I love Danskos but they don't love me. I wish they had them in the 1/2 sizes, as I'm in between.

So, describe the new outfit!

message 23: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Pictures. We want pictures.

message 24: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments What kind of new outfit? What's the occasion?

I wore new jeans today. Well, I actually bought them a couple months back, off the clearance rack at Kohl's (11 bucks!), but I forgot until I searching my closet for something to wear because almost all my other clothes are dirty in anticipation of tomorrow massive laundry session.

Here's a different pair of shoes I'm thinking of wearing tomorrow!

Yay spring. Finally cute shoes time of year.

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments Think I will rock my leather Keen walking shoes and my Seiko Coultura tomorrow
(I am a shoe and watch guy)

message 28: by Lori (new)

Lori Eh, I'll just be glad if I can get rid of my winter boots.

message 29: by smetchie (new)

smetchie | 4034 comments YAY! DANSKOS!

I'm done with socks for the summer. I hate socks and I don't care if it does get cold again. I'm packing away my sweaters this weekend. I refuse to go back!

message 30: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) What about the monkeys, Gretchen? Oh wait ... wrong thread. This is the "Sally the Tenderfoot" thread. Not the sock monkey thread. Sorry.

message 31: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Monkey.

message 32: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments "I'm not a monkey!!!" (courtesy of the cartoon Dave the Barbarian - distantly related to Kevin the Barbarian)

My sis & bro-in-law moved to live off the east coast of Florida in Jan, and she has a counter ticking off the days she hasn't had to wear socks. I'm still having to walk around in my duct-taped lavender fuzzy-muppet slippers. BUT, I bought some cheapo flip-flops just for optimisms sake.

message 33: by Nuri (new)

Nuri (nools) | 538 comments I brought my favorite scarf out today because today was upper 60's, lower 70's.

After hitting upper 80's all week, today was COLD.

message 34: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Upper sixties, lower seventies is cold, Nools? Scarf weather?

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments currently 57 in lovely downtown kokomo looking for a high of 80 today. i do have socks on but i am wearing them on but they are velcro tear-aways so i can remove them easily when it gets warm

Don't forget, RA, Nools is a crazy Californian. They bust out the sweaters when it gets down to 50.

message 38: by Nuri (new)

Nuri (nools) | 538 comments 50! 50 is winter coat weather....

We Californians are delicate and require a very specific, moderate temperature range. :D;

message 39: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
Heh! When it gets up to 50 here people start lounging about in the lawns with shorts and tank tops on.

message 40: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Californians are delicate.

But Mark Twain said the coldest winter he ever spent was June in San Francisco.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments It's still getting pretty cold here at night, down in the 30s, so I'm having to do some clever layering some days to not overheat in the afternoon.
I'm still wearing my wool coat to work, and I'm holding off on putting the sweaters away, too.

message 42: by Félix (last edited Apr 24, 2009 09:32AM) (new)

Félix (habitseven) Walking to work this week in short sleeves has been wunderbar. 75 here right now. Things are blooming like crazy and birds are nesting. The swans in the lake next door are guarding about 8 eggs on their nest.

But Sally, this thread is still all about you and your switch of wardrobe/footwear.

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes Sally please tell us more!

Heh. You guys are funny. I have nice comfy Dansko clogs on today and my new silk pants. Not as summer chic, but easier to walk about, fo sho.

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

Comfortable shoes are the best, but in trying to stay on topic, what is your most comfortable pair of shoes Sally?

message 46: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments You do realize, of course, that Crocs will make their reappearance across America any day now.

Crocks are evil.

Never understood the appeal of Crocs.

But RA - you are getting off topic.

message 49: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments Crocs are tomorrows parachute pants
