Mary: HDLS and Vicky, if you would like me to delete Posts #2 onward in this thread to avoid confusion, please let us know.

We created this thread for finished books only because it makes them easier to find. If people post as they finish in their own personal update threads or in the discussion threads they are easy to miss, especially if people get chatty in the thread and there's a lot of posts. So having a finished books only thread makes it easy to see them and place them in the right categories. Vicky or I, as team captains, have to submit which books were read by who and how they fit our challenge in order to get the points.

Mods approved: minimum of 1 for categories 2-8 but no need to set a limit on them. Members do not have to read a book for each category, as long as the team adds at least 1 book for each category.
1: Spell-GO PEWTER BLUE (12)
2: Beach Reads: books we'd take to read on the beach.
3: 8th in a series, 8 words, 8 letters, published in August etc.,
4: Green covers for Peridot birth stone.
5: Books with Sun, Fire on cover or in title, red or orange cover.
6: Summer Fling: books under 300 pages
7: 19th Amendment: books by female authors in honor of women in the US getting the vote on August 18, 1920.
8: Water, Water Everywhere: books set near water, water in title, water on cover etc..,
Finished Titles and Dates
1.

Finished 8/2 340 pages
Fits into category #2 or #8

There is only one category most appropriate - #7. This is not only a female author, but a tribute to women.

I put it under the short books category but it also works for female author, beach read & water.
FYI: if I don't place a book right away in the update thread, it's because I am deciding where I want to put it. Since we need a minimum of 1 book in each category, I'll be placing books in empty categories until there's at least 1 in each. I have a spreadsheet going for tracking.

fits ~
1 (B), 2, 5 (fire on cover), 6 (170 pages), 7 (female author, female lead), possibly 8 (lake predominant in the middle to end of book)

Fits:
1: G or R (Robert Graysmith, author)
5: red cover (the picture here is not the same cover as mine but both appear to be red/orange-ish red. The book that shows up here has the same ISBN as mine, yet different covers for some reason)
8: Water: Killer was fond of killing people near lakes

#1: T(ony)
#4: Maybe? It's a Greenish-Blue, I can't decide if I would call it green though!
#8: The boat on the cover is in water, it's difficult to see but it's in the bottom left corner. I could make a case for it being set on the water. In so much as it has a setting, it takes place in the major settlements of early America which were mostly on the water.

Good for Category 1 for L(for title) or T (MC Tom), 2 for a beach read, 7 for female author, and 8 for water in title - ocean

eta: updated to here
16/75

Possibly under R in Spell it Out
Red cover

Water on the Cover
Female author

Mary said she set up permissions to allow anyone with the link to view it so I don't think viewing it is a problem. In fact, I believe you've already seen it? You made a comment about it in post #55 on the page I just linked.
Also, Mary -- thanks for letting me look at your spreadsheet for inspiration. I like your format much better than the one I had originally started to use. Yours was much simpler. I can't ever seem to do the simple way until someone else does it and I think, "Duh...". I make things too complicated for myself.

Fits ~
1 (T), 2, 5? (some orange on cover), 6 (213), 7 (female author, female lead), 8 (water on cover, lake and swamp in story)

I think she just misunderstood your post. There's nothing wrong with everyone being able to look at it!
Finished

#3 Maybe? Are we using original publication or publication of the book? It was originally published in February of 2008 but my copy was published in August 2009.

ETA: Nancy is staying in the challenge.
