Goodreads recommendations, advertisements, word of mouth...how did you find out about your favorite books?

message 2: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (starjoy899) | 65 comments word of mouth, the NEW section of the library, goodreads lists, goodreads ads, and goodreads in general.

message 3: by Selene (new)

Selene | 89 comments People either told me about the book. I picked it up by mistake and read the summary. Read the first page or looked at the front cover of the book.

message 4: by Sapir (new)

Sapir | 407 comments GOODREADS!!! I just love this site. Without it I would've missed too many great books. :*

message 5: by Selene (new)

Selene | 89 comments I knew about this website but i had no idea that it was so addicting.

message 6: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (starjoy899) | 65 comments I stumbled across it one day when I was surfing... the net.

Selene | 89 comments Yeah me too. That happened to me yesterday.

message 8: by Sapir (new)

Sapir | 407 comments Me too! It took me a while to understand why exactly it is, though.

message 9: by Selene (new)

Selene | 89 comments Yeah, and i was on ths website once before too, to look at a book i wanted.

message 10: by Hailie (new)

Hailie | 11 comments The way I find books to read is by walking around the library's fiction section until something catches my attention.

message 11: by Selene (new)

Selene | 89 comments I do that too or i pick random books off the shelves and read the summaries.

message 12: by Maggie (new)

Maggie | 8 comments I follow some reviewer's blogs, check out the YA and specific genre pages on Barnes and Nobles' website, find interesting books with great covers and summaries online, and just browse Goodreads lists of releases by the month.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

I discovered my favourite series of all time, Harry Potter, from the movies XD

message 14: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (lizziebook) I discovered my favourite book when my sibling said
"DON"T READ THIS BOOK" and then my love for Tobias began (Divergent)

message 15: by Focus (new)

Focus (xxfocusxx) | 7 comments I picked up on the series and found a love of one of the characters, then found his book

message 16: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 4 comments I dont have a lot of friends who read as much as I do, so I usually go to the book store and browse around. Most of the time the popular books are displayed. Also, I have to read the book before the movie comes out once I see the trailer I look to see if there is a book.

Anna (Unquenchable Reads) (unquenchablereads) I only have one friend who loves to read. Shes introduced me to a few series. I mostly just find books at the library or bookstore and try them.

message 18: by Caitlin (new)

Caitlin (caitl5n) Amazon is where I find all my books for my kindle of course. Amazon <
Then there is browsing through book shops and good reads is a great place to find new books.

message 19: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (tessanewberry) I have gotten pretty lucky wandering around my library and picking up random books honestly! My mom also always has perfect suggestions!! :)

message 20: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nm_karic) | 5 comments Goodreads is how I found my favorite book and then later my favorite author.

Same here, my friend told me to go here for books, I decided to make an account and I LOVE IT!! I found out about my fav books by family, friends, accident, etc.

message 22: by Riya (new)

Riya My favorite book of all time is The Book Thief. And I'd been meaning to read it for years, but I actually waited since I knew that we read it freshman year at my school. So I read it for school I guess, but I was going to read it anyways :)

message 23: by Moe (new)

Moe (moecomalley) I usually spend a lot of time in Barnes and Noble, and usually find books by looking at the "Must-Read Teen" section or by looking at the New Books section!

message 24: by Nihar (new)

Nihar Suthar (niharsuthar) I usually find out about a lot of my books through social media! I actually promote my book through social media too. Here is the pitch that I use:

$3 inspirational ebook. Portion of profits going to the Acumen fund, a charity investing in solutions to global poverty. Inspire your life and help others!

That section is AMAZING. :)

Nihar Suthar (niharsuthar) I discover most of my favorite books through social media believe it or not! I also promote my own book through social media as well. Here is the paragraph I usually post to spread word about my book:

"Check out my newly released motivational book "Win No Matter What." It's made up of several powerful inspirational stories. The ebook version is only $3, and most book sale profits go to Acumen, a charity investing in solutions to combat global poverty!
