Feliks I need more clues. Whats the course you're taking? What grade level? What time period? Whats the prof's background? Whats the theme he's talking about, or is he only discussing technique?

Stephen Questions of this sort are answered all the time over in the http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/1... group. I suggest that you post this question there.

You have no idea what might be detected if you gave us more context for the teacher or the topics he speaks about. I've seen it happen time and time again; where someone-seeking-a-book possesses more info than they realize, and the readers responding help them re-frame the question in a way that the answer can be arrived at.

You asked for help; and then are surly and uncooperative in letting us assist you. Your loss. I hope you never find any book you are ever looking for.

William What's the second person narrator book?

Mikee I don't understand the thread of all these comments, but I strongly recommend you find "Johnny Got his Gun", by Dalton Trumbo, and read it. Read it sitting down. Have a drink afterwards to help you sleep. This is one of the most POWERFUL little books ever written. You will never forget it.

It seems to be Bright Lights, Big City by Jay McInerney."

I thought it might be A Prayer for the Dying by Stuart O'Nan, A terrific book. One person commented she couldn't sleep in the same room with this book after she started reading it.
