Yup, you got the idea, run with it :) And Thanks for playing :D
If we get enough books in the different types I plan on starting up a listopia for each of them.

It's just the storylines end up being very similar because they are really stories about the survivors, not about the entities chasing them down.
I always called the British TV series Survivors a "zombie series without the zombies", because it's basically just the remaining 5% of the population after a deadly plague preying upon each other.

When I put thought into making these lists, it was because so many different zombies exist.
You are correct that it does appear that Death .. as in risen from the grave yard .. the voodoo Dr. and necromancer .. was eliminated when the zombie horror writers (and I include Movie Script writers in this) decided it would be more interesting to try a quick conversion without the time delay that a funeral, burial, and voodoo Dr./necromancer require.
Zombies have evolved.. yes, I said that a fictional monster has changed in it's nature. Such a strange thing to say but it's happened and is adding the zest back into the subgenre.

Plague Town and Plague Nation by Dana Fredsti

Blood, Brains, & Bullets by Sean Leibling
Mace of the Apocalypse by Dan Williams
Trudge: Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse series by Shawn Chesser

Hmm. Since there are necromancers involved, I would have said "Voodoo and Witchcraft (sorcery) zombies:".

I guess I might be posting it here too early?

I didn't find the words necormancy or necormancer but it could be that they spelled it wrong or used another word
Maybe the virus caused the zombies but they were also able to be controlled by the necormancer?
We will see in the buddy read.

Ahem. You spelled it wrong. :)
Necromancer is in the book 121 times. Virus is there 64 times. And, for those still reading, zombie is there 390 times. :)
One more thing you can do with a Kindle that you can't do with a paperback book!

LOL I told you spelling wasn't my strong suit. :D
But that's why I have friends like you, to help me seem educated.

The Battery
I've been trying to decide if I want to wait until it gets to NetFlix, or pay the $3.99 to Amazon to watch it on Instant Video there.

Too bad they don't offer a 15 min sample for movies.
Netflix can take a while to get movies.

On one of the trailers, the verbiage says the movie was filmed in 15 days, on a budget of $6000. So probably volunteers instead of SAG actors. :)
PS: Based on the trailer, I don't think I'll pay $3.99.

would that be the 1973 Romero original or the so-so 2013 remake? more blood and gore does not make for a better film

The movie, right? I loved that flick - 80's hair and everything!

Hello My Fellow Zombie Freaks. The conversation of "how" the zombie apocalypse happened has come up more then once in our group. I got to thinking, Just how many ways a zombie can be made. Zombie virus, Voodoo, Witchcraft, Alien infestation, Radioactive.. are there any other ways?
So maybe in this thread we can gather up some titles? I imagine this list will be long so I am going to start a thread for each of the ways that I know. If you have a different way, feel free to make a thread.
The point here is to gather up some names of books and movies of each method.
This thread is dedicated to Plague zombies:
