July's Nominations!

I've heard this is good!The Handmaid's Tale-Margaret Atwood
GR description:
"In the world of the near future, who will control women's bodies?
Offred is a Handmaid in the Republic of Gilead.
She may leave the home of the Commander and his wife once a day to walk to food markets whose signs are now pictures instead of words because women are no longer allowed to read.
She must lie on her back once a month and pray that the Commander makes her pregnant, because in an age of declining births, Offred and the other Handmaids are only valued if their ovaries are viable.
Offred can remember the days before, when she lived and made love with her husband Luke; when she played with and protected her daughter; when she had a job, money of her own, and access to knowledge.
But all of that is gone now....
Funny, unexpected, horrifying, and altogether convincing, The Handmaid's Tale is at once scathing satire, dire warning, and tour de force."

Lisa See is a Goodreads author? Hurray!!!!
I would have nominated something for July, but I am going to be gone on vacation a chunk of the month, and was afraid I would not be able to do a discussion justice if my book was picked and then I was not available to lead. I am happy to vote on what has been nominated so far!

Regardless it's nomination time.
First twelve nominations will be put up on a poll so no need to vote or second on this thread.
If you nominate the book you are the one leading the discussion and remember we are trying to break the books down into parts for varying threads and one spoiler thread. How you break it up is up to you but we are trying to accomodate those that have read and those that are reading the books.
The book with the most nominations will lead off July and the book with the second most nominations will take over the middle of the month.
Nominate only one book.
Nominations close when I get 12 or by Sunday, which ever comes first.
Thanks,
Tera
