I think we just start talking. I finished the book last night, Daniel. Loved it. Felt like I rode the emotional coaster with you. Was so sad to have my own "naive" bubble burst at the end, but was also glad that you had the reality check at the end.

Well I wasn't empathetic through the entire book, but you always managed to come in when I was thinking "rotten, spoiled American" and bring me back to your side. I truly thought that masterful... that you were able to do that each time I started thinking "Bad American."

And Jeez, Daniel, how'd you get so good at doing that Chinese stuff? You managed to get me to laugh at the cultural differences but never led me to the point where I was imagining some American superiority....

Just great. Wish I'd had this book to use as a model when I did my Daddy stories for you.

It's my writing project for the summer. I had the small matter of a collection of poems due by May 5 that sidetracked me. Don't know if I can ever bring Daddy up to Larry greatness, but I'm still trying.
