Is there any book or any character from a book which you found inspiring? If so, which is it?

The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand
Howard Roark from this book is very inspiring and an epitome of individual heroic

Simply Fly, the life story of Captain Gopinath.. Its not a HOW TO book, but what he has done to achieve what he has, is inspiring!!!
Then there is Angels and Demons, the book which inspired me to become an ambigram artist.. :)

Jane Eyre, Elizabeth Bennett, Portia from The Merchant of Venice, Jennifer Cavilleri from Love Story by Erich Segal and Anne Frank who wrote The Diary of a Young Girl.

I think all three of them were smart, witty, and charming. Liz Bennett was a bit arrogant and Jane Eyre very simple, nonetheless, they too were strong women. What's your say ?

Elizabeth was arrogant and though I really really love her, I wouldn't find her....inspiring. And same is the case with Jany Eyre, she's to simple and innocent. Read that book long back so I can't quite remember much of her....but I don't think I had been too impressed by her.

Well.. Liz was undoubtedly intelligent compared to the girls in that age.. and Jane Eyre emerged as a strong, laborious, intelligent and positive young woman, despite all the hardships she had undergone. So,though they had flaws in their characters, they were still impressive. :)

I found Lord Shiva Character Inspiring in Shiva triology

Yes Shiva was inspiring but I think Sati was much more inspiring......especially in the last book.

Don Vito Corleone from Godfather. The guy is really a visionary who understand relation better.

Shiva and sati are also very inspiring characters who teaches us to be man of value rather than man of success.

the book is brilliant... itz nt often u find such works... the book is not exactly philosophy... but itz v.inspiring... the protagonist, Howard Roark, he's a man who never falters from his convictions, completely independent... he is someone who everybody really wish they would b... just true to himself... itz a must read book... don't miss it

I thought that the four old ladies in The Joy Luck Club were very inspiring.

Atticus Finch in To Kill A Mockingbird. A very inspiring character in a very inspiring novel.

She's similar to Katniss in that they are both kick ass. Allie becomes a "monster" (vampire) but she doesn't let it take her over; she keeps fighting it and keeps fighting for good.
