It long weekend here in SIngapore starting Thursday. Hubby and I are taking advantage of it. We should be back by 11 but I'll be able to start only on 12. But that's ok. I'll quickly catch up. I already loaded the book into my Kindle.

one where he was thinking about when he was 15 and (view spoiler) and the other one when his father was in his room (view spoiler)

And it's very very hard not to click the spoilers. I'm going back to reading it..

I didn't expect that Bothari development. And I agree- Elena's reaction was horrible. Bothari certainly did deserve better. Miles this time chewed more than he should have. Poor Bothari.
Coming to Miles - he's an awesome awesome character. It was like reading a romp; never knowing what was happening next.

I don't have it yet ,though.

So true. And Elena doesn't even bother getting more info about Bothari. I mean, he was employed by Aral & Cordelia and the least she could do is talk with them about it. Instead, she jumps into such a half-baked conclusion. Gah. Didn't like her at all after that.

It's so good , I can't guess what's going to happen in this one!

Between the seemingly impossible tasks of living up to his warrior-father's legend and surmounting his own physical limitations, Miles Vorkosigan faces some truly daunting challenges.
Shortly after his arrival on Beta Colony, Miles unexpectedly finds himself the owner of an obsolete freighter and in more debt than he ever thought possible. Propelled by his manic "forward momentum," the ever-inventive Miles creates a new identity for himself as the commander of his own mercenary fleet to obtain a lucrative cargo; a shipment of weapons destined for a dangerous warzone.

Note from the Author's website:
The Warrior’s Apprentice and The Vor Game (with, perhaps, the novella “The Mountains of Mourning” tucked in between.) The Warrior’s Apprentice introduces the character who became the series’ linchpin, Miles Vorkosigan; the first book tells how he created a space mercenary fleet by accident; the second how he fixed his mistakes from the first round. Space opera and military-esque adventure (and a number of other things one can best discover for oneself), The Warrior’s Apprentice makes another good place to jump into the series for readers who prefer a young male protagonist.

Gisela, Vi and I will be reading this around around August 11. While it's book 2 in the publication order and book 4 in the chronological order, the author has written this series so that each book can stand on its on. Feel free to join us, this book is the first book in Miles Naismith Vorkosigan adventures .
