I nominate The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer

I read "Americanah" recently and really, really enjoyed it. The main character, Ifemelu's perspective feels fresh as she is not born in the US having immigrated from Nigeria. This provides greater freedom to initiate race, immigration & American culture topics.
