Please nominate any book from the July/August 2013 issue that is not listed as a Bookmarks Selection in this issue. All Bookmarks Selections will be the subject of their own poll.

I'll nominate Howards End by E.M. Forester, on page 22 in the article "If you Like Downton Abbey...".

I read "Americanah" recently and really, really enjoyed it. The main character, Ifemelu's perspective feels fresh as she is not born in the US having immigrated from Nigeria. This provides greater freedom to initiate race, immigration & American culture topics.
