Hi Kelly, hate to bother you w/this question but I am so not tech savvy, & I would really like to know how to set up a link like you described in your instructions. I really am totally clueless.
Ash, look on the main group page near the top. Next to "Discussion Board", you'll see "Topics: All/New/Unread."Click on "New" and follow the prompts to create a new discussion topic. Make sure to put it in the correct folder. You'll see an option for that when you create it.
I am interested in doing this! Now I just need to figure out a book...
Before I create a new thread I want to make sure I understand the rules. If I want to propose a buddy read, I create the thread and ask for others to join in? Or do I ask here and then create the thread once people want to join in?
What is a buddy read?
Buddy reads are a group of people, anywhere from two and up, that want to read a comic, book, or manga together and discuss it here on the forums. These are completely separate from our group reads and are independently chosen by She-Geeks who want to read and discuss a book.
How Do I Set Up A Buddy Read?
1. Post a new thread under this discussion board with the title of the work you'd like to read.
2. Include anything you want in this thread! Proposed read dates, a synopsis of the book, why you'd like to read it with a few friends, whatever!
3. If you are interested in joining a buddy read, simply post to the thread started and join in the discussion.
4. If you'd like to have any stipulations in the buddy read (a certain number of chapters a night, whether everybody should use the spoiler tag, when the buddy read will end, etc.), be sure to include it in your original thread.
