Please tell us what book or series has you hooked at the moment

message 2: by [deleted user] (new)

I am currently into several series of books but my favorites include:

Mercy Thompson Series by Karen Moning
Divergent Trilogy by Veronica Roth
The Tiger Curse by Colleen Houlk

Those are just a few of the ones I am in currently.

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

Sorry the Mercy Thompson Series is by Patricia Briggs. Sorry that is what I get for trying to do two things at one time.

I am working my way through the Fever Series and loving it. I love all the different kinds of fae

message 8: by Betsy (new)

Betsy (dandilionfluff) | 1 comments Have you read Seanan McGuire's October Daye series or Suzanne McLeod's Spellcracker.com series. They have a much broader base of fae and are very well written. Many of the characters in those series have fleshed out roles.

I read the first October Daye and I found it hard to get through so I didn't finish the series. I have never heard of the other series but I would like to take a look at it

Andrea Jackson (paperbackdiva) | 23 comments Reading Acheron by Sherrilyn Kenyon right now. I've only read a couple of books in the series. This one is very different from the rest. For one thing it is so long! And the first half is a story of childhood and domestic abuse in ancient times. By the time I got to Part II, in modern times, I was thinking 'enough already, I get it!' Very well written and hypnotic but it's a big commitment.

That series is amazing! But yes, reading the whole thing is a commitment, but by reading all the books in the recommended order, you get the full impact of the overarching plot... Just wait 'till you read the 22nd one, Styxx, it's even longer than Acheron (me love big juicy books yum yum)

Acheron is up next for me with this series but I'm putting it off because reading over 700 pages is a huge effort. Maybe next month...

Yes, Kenyon's writing usually flows quite quickly so I'm sure I won't even notice that it is so long when I'm reading it. Nevertheless, there is that psychological block, lol!
