Gore and More discussion

I'm half way through Krampus, and I have to say... I really like it. Though (honestly) it doesn't enrapture me completely, it is such an interesting premise!
Though it falls a little flat, so far. Maybe I just don't like Jesse... a bit whiney, weak, and unable to use common sense. Or see past his emotions long enough to make a plan, make an educated guess, the best course of action, etc.
I think that's what it must be... Because I thoroughly enjoy the other characters.... Krampus (decrepit, diminished, deceived, he has a good heart, and a strong will), the General (a psychotic thug), even Dillard's character is somewhat interesting (corrupt local police chief, murderer, etc.), at least he's conniving enough to rouse interest. ah well, I am enjoying the book though, can't wait to see who wins, Santa or Krampus?

I was really into the premise, and Brom as an author.... but it fell slightly flat for me, definitely not the best thing I've ever read. I did enjoy it though.
I don't want to spoil it for you, but certain parts seemed a bit forced, and others were a bit disappointing. i would still say yes, worth the read.
