Read 129 books as a Team that fits ONE of the challenge below. Note that 1/3rd of our books or 42 books must fit towards A Book A Day Challenge. We have chosen the following challenges:

3. All challenges will be attempted as a team. Just think of the three challenges are three categories like in August with many different subcategories.

4. We have time till September 20 if you wish to drop out of the challenge. But we can only use books from people who are participating in the challenge.

5. The individual number given above is a guideline only. It's the overall team goal that matters.

6. The captains reserve the right to move books around if it fits another spot better.

Well, it only counts because I started it in August. I planned to finish it yesterday, but fell asleep last night! So I'm not really sure if it's an August book or Sept. book.

We had to get up at oh three dark hundred yesterday morning. We were all out by 845pm last night. I was unable to nap on either leg of our flight as our daughter felt the need to entertain the unsuspecting third person in our row. They were very nice but she just doesn't stop even with her mom telling her to. We took alazy pool day today andthis time the Internet is avail in the rooms vs in the lobby. Downtime today so was able to check,lol.

I wish I had already finished a book for the Sept challenge. I'vegot three books in the works.

Leslie - you're causing me to work on Sunday! It's okay with me if you want to say something about the Option. Some of the BAD options aren't apparent unless you've read the book.

I agree, Chris. It's a really frustrating challenge for planning ahead purposes! I will suggest options for the books I read.

Melissa, that's so funny about your daughter! My youngest is also that talkative.

I will try to remember to add BAD suggestions as well as main characters for the spell-it out.

You can use Main Characters for the spell it outs? I didn't know that.

For most of them you've been able to.

I just checked - for the one we are doing, the rules state "Pick an animal for each letter of the alphabet and read books with titles, character (first or last name), or authors (first or last name) that begin with letters that correspond to letter of the animal you choose."

Melissa, I had very mixed feelings about Tack. Sometimes I really liked him and other times -no way. Unfortunately my prejudices got in the way of truly appreciating him. ( I would be the Aunt and Uncle in real life). But I still loved the book and could understand why Tyra would love him.

Yep, I can totally see that. Ended up rounding up to 5 stars but it was really 4.5 for me. I had some issues with stuff in the book.

What did you think about Gwen feeling like she was "allowed" to decide if Tyra was good enough for Tack. Personally, that pissed me off. Especially since they didn't do anything together and Gwen couldn't make up her fricking mind..... (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ The whole book was full of "accept my biker lifestyle with no questions". That was a major issue for me and I was able to suspend it - because it wasn't me having to accept it. And I'm sorry - finding skank guy with skank girl having sex with the door open and she never confronted him. I understand not telling the girlfriend - because you never know what people want to know - but she could have gotten in his face. And the whole thing with Gwen was just weird. I felt that way when I read her book. Tyra just accepted so much. There was that whole "he's a man and can't change and it's the woman who must" thing that fired up my latent feminist heart! But still - lots of vicarious fun! (hide spoiler)]

Oh, LK - I used to be a rabid feminist! Then I decided to stay home and raise my baby and I was attacked by the "sisters" I worked with at a Rape Crisis Center in Cleveland. I was pretty disillusioned. Life has certainly taught me a few things since then. But I still have my moments! My youngest is taking a Race, Class and Gender course in college this semester and she came home saying "mom, she reminds me of you!"
