Janice (lostfamilies) | 111 comments I would like to start a discussion on could you go Amish

The cons for me would be 1st the Language 2nd sitting on the backless hard benches for 3 hours
No Computer just because of writing & keeping in touch plus doing quilting projects as i have a program for it on here

Pros
You could use solar panels so that would solve one problem but if you gone camping cooking with out electric no problem there are still places in the UK that have to use Propane or oil as they don't have a gas line
Using a washing machine well i had one of the ones with the mangle on okay it was electric but it not a problem
Lifestyle & the community i bet that is something appeals to most of us
so lets start this discussion on if you could go Amish
Hugs Janice

Natalie (creativecountry0407gmailcom) | 1130 comments I agree with you on the cons, but the women are still expected to submit to their husbands. The other big issue for me is shunning. I just feel like it's wrong because they are supposedly so forgiving, but the wayward people have to confess before beign allowed back. I feel like they don't get enough respect whereas some modern women have a lot of power. The biggest pro is the community aspect. For me, the food is also a positive. I also like the concept that they tend to forgive quickly.

Janice (lostfamilies) | 111 comments I have read it & posted a review which if you read don't say if she makes it or not
I hate knowing the end if i have not read it i will say one thing which is not a give away the Main Amish Characters are from her Series of Books, The Heritage of Lancaster County Series

But would still love to go there for a visit knowing i can't live the life also i would love to have a Amish or Mennonite Pen Pal
