Leanne Hunt (leannehunt) My contemporary women's fiction novel "Jozi Gold" is about the wife of a dentist who, on the arrival of her sister from Sydney, discovers that her husband is having an affair. Set in Johannesburg during the run-up to the 2010 Soccer World Cup, it presents an authentic picture of what it is like to suffer personal crisis amidst the crisis of a fast-changing society. The book is currently available from Amazon and Kindle at amazon.com/author/leannehunt

John Mountford (killmandela) | 735 comments Excited to hear about your sequel, Vicki. I'm going to have to read number one first - has it been reviewed by the group yet? So much to read; so little time. Please let me know if I can help in any way.

John Mountford (killmandela) | 735 comments Vicki wrote: "Lisa's read it. But maybe we'd do a review at a later time. I can see how time consuming your book is."

Yes - perhaps best to wait until you have got your sequel published and marketed.
The review of Kill Mandela is time consuming, but I am loving it...and learning a lot about my own book - invaluable to me as far as the sequel is concerned.
I am deeply grateful to all of you for making this review so stimulating - especially you, Vicki - being so pressed for time with your own book.

Azhar Amien (azharamien) | 4 comments Hey everyone :D I've just recently self-published my first novel, a crime thriller called "The Sorrow"

I'm a young author of 20, so my only ambition is to improve and get better. I'm very positive, but I'm also realistic of where I am right now.

Here are the links:

Leon Kock (leondekock) | 22 comments The first of my books is called Hordes. This is a two part book, one set in the now, and one set in the future. (Both parts are combined in one book though, so you don’t have to buy two books to read the whole story.)
You can see a review at Kindle at http://www.amazon.com/Hordes-Leon-Koc... (I hope this link works!)
Or you can go to my website for a link to a 20 page preview at http://www.leondekock.com/books.html

This is by far the longest of my novels currently, and is quite an epic read.

message 25: by Leon (new)

Leon Kock (leondekock) | 22 comments Story of Enchantment, my second book, was an experiment in poetry that I wanted to do, and I was quite pleased with the outcome.
This is a collection of 250 poems, and tells the story of a young smith who falls in love with a gypsy girl. It involves, amongst others, witches, wizards, dragons, knights and elves. Oh, and also gypsies, lovers and ghosts.
See it at Kindle at http://www.amazon.com/Story-Enchantme...
Or check out the preview on my website at
http://www.leondekock.com/books.html

message 26: by Leon (new)

Leon Kock (leondekock) | 22 comments My third book is called Dream World.
This novel is all about a bad guy who learns how to manipulate people through their dreams, and the good girl who has to stop him.
Look inside at Kindle

Or see the preview at my website at
http://www.leondekock.com/books.html

message 27: by Leon (new)

Leon Kock (leondekock) | 22 comments My fourth novel, and currently the last one to have been published to date, is called Dream School, and is the sequel to Dream World.
Meet the children who were conceived in the dream world, but born to the real world. Everything is going well, until strange deaths once again start occurring.
The Kindle link is here
http://www.amazon.com/Dream-School-Wo...
And of course the preview on my own website at
http://www.leondekock.com/books.html

message 28: by Leon (new)

Leon Kock (leondekock) | 22 comments Having made everybody read about my four published books in quick succession, I now run the risk of boring my audience with yet another post, but I have to give you something in return.
Here it is, something for free.
I sometimes write short stories, very short ones, to some that are a bit longer. These I post on my website, for free, as a thank-you to my readers. So get yourself a warm cup of coffee, because winter is not quite over yet, and surf over to http://www.leondekock.com/short_stori...
for a couple of short stories to warm you up. Err no, considering that I wrote them, they will probably chill you to the bone. Or just bring a smile to your lips.

Richard Gradner (richardgradner) | 4 comments Hi, I'm running a Kindle countdown deal for Return To Lemuria starting at $0.99 from 14-19 January!

Blurb:
Billy Bayer has just alerted the mysterious descendants of an ancient civilisation. A civilisation that claim responsibility for every major historical event.

Billy is taken prisoner by a secret organisation after conspiring against his mob-boss. He is taught how to tap into his extra-sensory abilities and his life changes forever. This newfound power gives Billy the courage to confront his captors and challenge their age-old ideals.

Together with his crew of loyal companions, he devises a plan to thwart the organisation’s very existence. But how can one man stand up to a 12,000-year old prophecy that predicts adversity for all mankind?

The answer, it seems, is hidden deep in the Brazilian Amazonia with anthropologist Dr David Steel, who, together with the FUNAI Foundation, is on a mission to save the endangered tribes from persecution. It’s his research that appears to contain the key to the survival of the human species.

In the corrupt economy of post-Soviet Ukraine opportunities are scarce. Young and eager sisters – Natalia, Lena and Julia – harbor dreams of a better life. Naïve and tempted by the allure of ‘quick’ money, the girls set off on an adventure that changes their lives forever.

Can they stay out of trouble enough to fulfill their ambitions? Can they hold on to their idealism in a world where depravity and danger are constant companions? How far are they willing to go to make a buck?

TWISTED is a true life shaped into fiction story of vulnerability, courage and the art of making a living in the sex trade.

Enjoy the read and please leave your precious review if you like it! :)

Frankie Kay (frankiekay) | 3 comments Hi - I have written a full length novel, Silk Threads https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...
and two short stories featuring the same characters.
Jack and Jill, https://www.smashwords.com/books/view... is a short story that can be read as a stand alone and I often suggest people read it first - its only 22 pages long and will give you some idea if you like my writing style.
Reckless Gambol https://www.smashwords.com/books/view... is a Silk Threads vignette and will make no sense to you unless you have read Silk Threads.

All are free on Smashwords and set in Johannesburg and Bulawayo.

Evadeen (evadeenbrickwood) | 2 comments Hi, I'm Evadeen Brickwood and I live in Johannesburg. I write novels mostly about my experiences in foreign lands and interesting topics I research.
My latest novel Singing Lizards by Evadeen Brickwood
Singing Lizards
is set in Southern Africa and has a traditional African aspect.
In 1988, Bridget Reinhold's sister Claire disappears in Botswana under mysterious circumstances. Bridget rushes to Africa and is faced with age-old traditions and political change. Struggling to find her place in rural Africa and an urban society with its many distractions, she is getting no closer to the answers she desperately seeks. Should Bridget enlist the help of witchdoctors to find Claire or just accept and live her new exciting life?
I believe there is an excerpt of the book in my profile, otherwise Singing Lizardsis available as a free read on Wattpad until the end of April.
Happy reading

Leon Kock (leondekock) | 22 comments To celebrate the fact that I have finished the monumental task of re-editing Hordes, I have just launched my next Free Book campaign on Amazon Kindle.
On the 15th and 16th of May, 2015, my book Hordes will be available for FREE download (Kindle version) from Amazon. Bookmark the date, and be sure to get your copy of this book.
The new version is, I hope, much easier to read, with all or as close as I could get, of the typos removed. Hordes was the first book I wrote, but I still enjoy reading it and hope that you will enjoy reading the story as much as I enjoyed writing it.
