Tell us what you are currently reading. What is it about and would you recommend it?

I enjoyed The Elite. I hope you do as well.

Susan I'm just starting Gone Girl. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. It's a bit harsh for my taste.

I finished the Elite and really enjoyed it!

I am now reading The Body in the Woods by April Henry. I am actually almost done with it and am really enjoying it!

Mike Robbins (mikerobbins) | 14 comments I'm halfway through You're Not Alone: An Indie Author Anthology. It's a collection of short stories sold to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. A nice thing to do. As always with an anthology, some of it's to my taste, some less so, but they're all readable and two or three have been great.

Amber (booklover30) I'm reading Scarlet Letter and I noticed how confusing the words are, because how big they are, but I tend to still understand the story.

message 10: by Susan (new)

Susan Done with Gone Girl. Looking forward to starting The Demon's Deadline.

message 11: by Angela (new)

Angela I just finished The House We Grew Up In yesterday. I ended up not liking it as much as I was hoping. A lot of characters living with emotional clutter and in literal clutter. The book is about a family growing up with a hoarder mother. I wasn't sucked into it, but rather kept reading just to get through it.

Funny that you posted on this book. I was looking at it in Costco today. I may reconsider it or put it on the back burner for now.

The Selection series drew me in more than most series in my recent memory. I hope you enjoy it!

To stay on topic, I'm currently reading You Deserve a Drink: Boozy Misadventures and Tales of Debauchery and hope to maybe finish it today or tomorrow. Mamrie is absolutely hilarious.

Amber (thespacejamber) Finished You Deserve A Drink, now reading Eleanor and Park, as well as a few ARC copies of various things. (:

How is the book Amber and Susan? I keep looking at it.

Tutti Dolci (tuttidolci) | 5 comments I'm a multi-book reader (aka mood reader). I will pick up one and later another, depending on what I'm feeling at a given time. Right now, I'm working on a Fantasy read as well as challenging myself to finish 1 book from my DNF pile. LOL

Ellen, I'm just a couple of chapters in but it seems pretty good so far. I like the writing style. So far Eleanor's life seems pretty unhappy. I'll let you know more when I finish. :-)

I finished Eleanor and Park earlier in the week and felt kind of ambivalent overall about it. The book definitely has some issues in terms of characterization, but that's just my opinion.

message 23: by Susan (new)

Susan Amber, I kind of feel the same way about Eleanor and Park. I thought its characters were a bit stereotypical. But I did want to find out what happened in the end so it held my interest that way.

I just finished A Darker Shade of Magic (A Darker Shade of Magic, #1) by V.E. Schwab . It was an intense good vs. evil. Now I'm starting The Witch's Boy by Kelly Barnhill .

Red Queen

message 25: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stoolfire The Brokenhearted (The Brokenhearted #1) by Amelia Kahaney and This Shattered World (Starbound, #2) by Amie Kaufman (audio) - the first is getting more and more on my nerves, but I am really enjoying the audiobook.

message 26: by Susan (new)

Susan I just finished A Long Walk to Water Based on a True Story by Linda Sue Park . I feel like it is a book everyone should read.

message 27: by Alan (new)

Alan D.D. (alandd) Hello! These are the books I'm reading right now :) Most of my books are YA, fantasy or paranormal romance.

Ciudad de hueso (Cazadores de sombras, #1) by Cassandra Clare I wanted to know why the hype about this saga, and honestly, I still don't understand... boooooooring...
Tarot Witch of the Black Rose Vol. 1 by Jim Balent I FREAKING LOVE THIS S**T
The City of Worms (Everville, #2) by Roy Huff This is one of the series I'm liking the most, when you get used to Roy's style you enjoy the story!
La Musa by Noemi Capote I'm translating it, but speaking about the reading, I'm liking it also.
