Nathan (mtnathan) | 1 comments Hi I'm Nathan! I actually was part of this group for a while back in 2012 but a bunch of circumstances caused me to stop checking Goodreads and stop reading as much as I had been for a loooooonnnnggggg time. Too long. But I'm back now and have a fresh start and am ready to go full speed ahead in 2014! I read Science Fiction, Mystery (Agatha Christie is my fave), and occasionally I'll read some YA. :) Can't wait to get back into the swing of things and start reading with ya'll. :D

Nathan: It's great to have you back! We're going to start our 2014 planning soon, so you're just in time.

Each month people can also sign up in the TBR twin where you answer questions about your interests and Kara matches you with a twin buddy and you read and discuss a book together.

Hi
I'm Gary Morris (Gary A.M.Morris to avoid confusion with the other author Gary Morris). I am the author of two recently released books on Kindle: 'The Journals of The Guardian' Book1 'Dawn of a Hero' . and 'Miao Shan' 'The Awakening'.
Both books are the first of a series. Both are YA, paranormal fantasy, and the Guardian is also sci fi.
I am currently trying to organise a massive give way of both books, via Amazon. So if you would like a free Kindle copy, please contact me so I can organise a way of letting you know when to download the books .

Welcome, all newcomers from the past few weeks!

I'm Teresa, 40-something bookworm who lives in Texas. I'm married and have a 12-year-old son, plus 3 black cats. My favorites to read are mystery/thrillers and contemporary young adult, though I enjoy reading most anything else, in general. I've been in this group since the end of 2012, though I'm not always very vocal. Hoping to participate more often!

mussolet (sovotchka) | 615 comments Hi Julie and Ashlee, have a lot of fun with this group! :)

Ashlee, good planning, if you're already looking forward to what you're reading next year :). (I should have planned a bit more this year as well.)

message 44: by ❦Dawn❦ (new)

❦Dawn❦ (sunnyd1) | 182 comments Hi All my name is Dawn and I'm new to this group. I like to read many different types of books but I tend to latch on to one type or author until I read all of their books or burn myself out and switch to a new genre. Right now I'm on a YA kick. I am currently reading The Book Thief. Last books include the Divergence Trilogy, The Fault inOur Stars, and City of Bones. I like to read books before they are movies but won't read a book that I saw the movie first. For reasons I can't explain I hate when they change the cover of a book to the movie cover. Finally, if I have nothing I'm really interested in reading at the time, my fall back is cowboy or paranormal romances. I have horrible grammar and spelling. I love reading other peoples reviews, I wish I could put my feelings about a book in words as poetically as many others can. I'm excited about joining this group and my first task will be setting a goal for 2014.

message 45: by ❦Dawn❦ (new)

❦Dawn❦ (sunnyd1) | 182 comments Thank you Craig for making me feel welcome.

message 46: by mussolet (new)

mussolet (sovotchka) | 615 comments Dawn, I do what you do, I get hooked on genres or authors. It's good to know I'm not alone in this :). The bad (or good) thing is that strong obsessions tend to come back to me, so I'm slowly finding that I have more things that I would need to read than I possibly could :).

Happy reading, and have fun here :).

message 47: by ❦Dawn❦ (new)

❦Dawn❦ (sunnyd1) | 182 comments SilverRaindrops you are definitely not alone...My teenage daughter also has this tendency, she will get so down when reading the last book of an author or series, she will take twice as long to finish it. This makes me crazy when I am wanting to talk about the book with her!!!

message 48: by Juliana (new)

Juliana | 60 comments I have been doing this too I love the Steig Larson books and got so depressed when I finish a series. I am now reading the jack reacher books by Lee child and just love these books

Oh, she starts it? That's progress as far as I am concerned ;). I have been known to whine about a book being the last one for a solid four months before making myself read it.

message 50: by Audrey (new)

Audrey | 1 comments Hi, my name is Audrey and I live in Italy. I love reading, mostly the classics such as Henry James, Thhomas Hardy but I enjoy just about anything. I'm so happy to have joined your group.
