♔ InfiniteRoyalty ♔ (infiniteroyalty) | 30 comments It was very well-written...that's my initial thought on this series...Stephanie Meyer is an excellent writer, but the characters make me want to cringe sometimes...
I think that the movie ruined the series...Twilight was a complete fail...the following movies weren't bad, and the last was definitely my favourite (view spoiler), but yeah...the reason people make fun of it is because of the terrible movie adaptation...

Bella is such a sap in the story...she's clingy, she's very self-conscious, and her tear ducts must have a vast wealth of moisture in them...

Edward is a blood-thirsty stalker with good intentions...he wants her blood, but also wants her, and in order to satisfy one desire, he has to torture the other...so he mind-stalks her, climbs into her room every night just to watch her sleep, and keeps watch of her inasmuch as he can...

I love Alice and Jasper!!! Despite being integral pieces of the whole, Alice and Jasper are kind of the loners in this series...especially in the last book...they have no blood-related ties to the family, though their love is definitely strong...
Alice is spunky and random and I love her!!!
and if I'm being honest, the whole Southern Gentleman thing Jasper has going on is pretty hot ;P

Anna (zanetaftanei) | 148 comments I loved this series when I first read it. It was the first love story that I have ever read and it was really exciting for me. I loved all the characters, I thought they were all smart and brave and overall fantastic characters to read about. The Twilight books were on my favorites list for a long time, but as I read more and more books, they quickly disappeared from that list. I really don't like Bella and Edward, especially Bella. Edward is a 190-year-old vampire who's never had a romantic relationship with anyone, and he can't do anything else with his life because he's immortal, so I see why he thinks being with Bella is the only thing that matters. But Bella...she's so immature and she only cares about her love life and nothing else. She was ready to sacrifice everything in her life, even her family, not to talk about school and college and friends etc. I still like all of the other characters, but I'm really not happy with Bella and Edward as the main characters in the story. I know it's a love story, but still, I think that they could have made much more mature decisions. I also think that Breaking Dawn was a disappointment. I was prepared for a big battle with lots of losses, and they just stood there, staring at each other. The only thing that was slightly intense was their conversation. Eclipse is my favorite book from the series, I just think it has everything, from romantic, cute scenes to intense battles. I also think that Stephenie's writing is absolutely beautiful.

A H I loved the series when I read it for the first time. Now most of it seems silly, but this series is the reason why I started reading YA. I loved the story, fell in love with vampires and am still crazy about Edward Cullen:P So I really hate it when people say all sorts of stuff about this book. But anyway, I'm ranting now...

Natasha S ♥ (tashieareads) I only read the first and last, the second and third got kinda boring, I only read about 1/4 of each of the middle books. Otherwise the series is good.

I liked the books the first time I read it but when I went back to read them again, I didn't enjoy them as much. Bella was really annoying too.

Terri (terricarmin) | 229 comments I can understand why people think Bella is annoying and I sort of think that too at times. But the thing is The Twilight Saga is what started my love for reading (besides Harry potter of course :p ) and by obsession with vampires so I'll always love the series no matter what anyone says. (sorry for ranting guys )

Chantae B. I loved this series when I was younger Team Edward! But I don't like it as much now but it's still a good series

Tracy | 25 comments The first Twilight book (and movie even!) was magical for me. I devoured it. As well as the rest of the series.

Btw, I saw the movie first. So naturally the book was better, I wasn't disappointed. But I can see why people who have read the book first would be disappointed by the movie.

And I thought Bella was a very typical teenage girl. Selfish in some ways, selfless in others. She was strong, independent but still a little self conscious. And she fell hard for a cute, mysterious boy!

Chantae B. I saw the movie first to so when I got to read the books I got so excited

message 11: by Jessica (new)

Jessica The books are very good. My favorite book in the series is New Moon.

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 354 comments I'm kind of neutral about the series. Didn't hate it, didn't love it. I felt like the more interesting aspects were kind of side things. I wanted to know more about Alice's origin than anything else in the entire series.

There's no shame in liking it though. I really do hate when people shame the fans, even though I'm not really one myself.

Aliza (alizaf) | 301 comments the first book was great but after that...not so much. the second book was so depressing it made ME want to commit suicide!!!

message 14: by Anahi (new)

Anahi | 4 comments @Aliza: I infinitely agree! I loved Twilight, but could not get past the first page of New Moon (didn't even bother with the rest) because of Bella's whiney tone.
