Audience: erm... people who like that kind of stuff (o: Mostly Fantasy/Romance or maybe Paranormal Romance readers, I guess. Particularly those interested in seeing what the standard Fantasy genre might have to offer them - I like to think of it as a gateway from YA Romance to Fantasy.
Blurb: Llew has a gift. Her body heals itself from any injury – but at a cost to anyone nearby.
In a country fearful of magic, freeing yourself from the hangman’s noose by wielding forbidden power brings dangers of its own. After dying and coming back, Llew drops from the gallows into the hands of Jonas: the man carrying the knife with the power to kill her – permanently.
The last of his warrior race, Jonas is haunted by memories of his loved ones. At his side, the cursed knife that took their lives acts as a cruel reminder of his pain. Jonas has learned the hard way that caring for others means their death.
Jealous of his half-brother’s celebrated strength and speed, Braph has created the device that gives him the power to perform magic, any magic. But it needs fuel – the blood of a healer…

Um... What does this book mean to me? Well, it was my first decent writing effort. Yes, I think it suffers a little from being my debut and my taking suggestions from left, right, and centre. But, I was keen, and I think that comes through. I'm still keen (o: I love that several readers really made a connection with it. That's the best bit. I'm sure there are plenty who don't love it, but those few who do are worth it.
When I wrote it, my characters would talk to me... or, rather, they'd talk to each other in front of me. Now that I'm talked at constantly by a toddler, I don't get that so much anymore. I miss it, but I hold out hopes my fiction is still OK!
