I went for a few years truthfully declaring that I never watch TV, but somehow my family sucked me back in.

What I'm watching:

Elementary (carry-over from last year)
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Sleepy Hollow

When it comes on again:

Downton Abbey
BBC's Sherlock

The jury's out on SHIELD. We've only seen the first episode and, while I really liked it, do I want to commit. Sleepy Hollow intrigues me even more because I kind of have a thing for Revolutionary War heroes ... I'm such a nerd!

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Love NCIS but want to see Agents of Shield. But got to have my NCIS :(

I also like Criminal Minds. HGTV and sometimes Foodnetwork.

Not a huge TV watcher but I have my spurts.

NCIS stars Mark Harmon, right? What is up with that guy's genetics? He's like otherworldly handsome.

A younger Mark Harmon would be perfect for Marc Hunter, don't you think?

Although he's definitely aging gracefully, too:

Which show do you like? Sometimes we watch Diners, Drive-ins and Dives but I always feel like Guy Fierri (sp?) is going to have a heart-attack before the final credits. His face gets all red and he's so intense.

I love Sherlock. I am totally crushing on Benedict Cumberbatch. I follow a bunch of folks on tumblr and Pinterest who are fans of his and it just makes it worse.

I'm still sorting out the new TV season. So far I am caught up on Sleepy Hollow and totally loving it. I plan to watch others (including Agents of SHIELD).

Elizabeth (elizabeth1023) I live for fall...I am a football addict. I probably watch more tv on Saturdays and Sundays in the fall then the rest of the year combined!

I do watch a few series like Criminal Minds, Castle, NCIS. Kind of a theme there, huh?

I watch Supernatural, but I haven't reached obsession level with it. Don't know how I managed to do that. Those are some fine men!

@Danielle: You're a Benedict Cumberbatch fan? So that's why you've been putting up at least one BC gif or pic a day for the last week on Booklikes. lol!

He's so awesome. Did you see the last Star Trek movie? He was amazing. I really didn't expect him to be that good at Khan, but he blew me away.

@Elizabeth: I'm a big Nathan Fillian fan (now that I've finally watched Firefly, he's been elevated to a special position in my fangirly POV), but I haven't watched Castle yet. I keep meaning to, but now that it's so many seasons in it's hard to get started.

Never watched Supernatural, although DD likes it and several fans have recommended it to me. Again, now that it's so many seasons in it feels daunting to start.

Funny thing - I have only ever bought a Playgirl magazine once in my life and Mark Harmon was the centerfold. lol. I wish I still had that magazine...

message 19: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 71 comments Well, I watch way too much tv but surprisingly didn't pick up on too many new shows this season. I do watch Sleepy Hollow and love it! I love scary movies and the like but this show creeps me out! I love it! :)

Beanbag - Castle is such a good show. I've watched religiously for the last 5 years and have never been disappointed. It is worth investing the time. Unlike with Bones we didn't have to wait 6 seasons for them to get together. Only 4! :)

So Bones is another one I watch too, plus so many more. My Monday night is full of Bones, then Sleepy Hollow and then Castle. Even though I DVR them I have to watch them when they are airing. LOL

I also watch Once Upon a Time. Very good show and I think they do a great job with incorporating many different fairy tales. :)

Speaking of a young Mark Harmon, has anyone seen Summer School? That is a pretty good movie of his back in his younger years.

Pamela - did you watch the end of Burn Notice?? What did you think? I loved it but was very sad about (view spoiler)

message 20: by Pamela(AllHoney) (last edited Oct 15, 2013 08:17AM) (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Oh, Lynsey, I hated that they did that. I didn't want any of the main characters to go like that. But I guess I understand how they wanted to go out in a bang.

And yes, I saw Summer School. Funny!

I do intend to get to it. He emcee'd an event I went to last year and he was hilarious. I really like funny guys. ;D

We've only watched the pilot of Sleepy Hollow so far. It did seem creepy, but it had a good amount of humor thrown in. I think the two leads are great together and they play off one another well.

message 22: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 71 comments @Pamela - I hated for that to happen to but in a way it felt right. This was her chance to finally protect her son.

@Beanbag - how fun you were able to hear him speak. He is super funny. A friend of mine is an absolutely huge fan of his. She is a pretty level headed person, she is a radio personality and talks to famous people quite a bit. However, she ran into him when he was in town one year for the Indianapolis 500 and pretty much just freaked out. :)

Sleepy Hollow is quite creepy. I love how they do play off one another. His sarcasm and wit is so entertaining. Love it!

@Lynsey: I would absolutely start speaking in tongues and possibly foaming at the mouth if I met Captain Mal in person. I walked past him at the event but that was before I'd seen Firefly. I didn't really know who he was at the time. I don't do very well when I meet famous people in person. I truly say the dumbest things. ;D

message 24: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 71 comments LOL - don't we all. I once ran into Anthony Edwards during his ER days and all I said was "I love you in ER." Later I found out that David Boreanz was also in the same bar (Seeley Booth on Bones and formerly Angel on Buffy the Vampire Slayer). If I had run into him I probably would have just fainted. :)

message 25: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (elizabeth1023) Lynsey - so close and yet so far! I would have fainted as well!! I've never got to meet a famous person. And David Boreanaz! OMG! I think Buffy started a few of my obsessions. That is also what started my Nathan Fillion obsession! I loved him as Caleb!

message 26: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 71 comments Elizabeth - I was so upset that night when I learned he was there but I didn't get to meet him. It was a rather large bar and he was in the very front while I was in the way back and up the stairs. :) I think I would have died.

I loved him as Caleb! So hard to believe the laughing, crazy guy can play someone so evil. :)

I bumped into Jonathan Winters at an antiques show, ages ago. Richard Widmark at LAX, talked with Melissa Gilbert and Debbie Reynolds while I was a telephone operator. Of them alll, only Debbie Reynolds was obnoxious. Of course she was more than slightly "in her cups" at the time, too.

@Dhes: you've met Pamela Clare and Kristen Ashley. That's pretty exciting. :D

I recall the old days when I used to watch a ton of TV. One of DH's and my favorite shows was The X Files. Never missed it. Until that last year, which is odd because I love Robert Patrick.

I also used to watch soaps. So many soaps. I remember when Ray Liotta was Joey Perini on Another World. hahahahahaha

We were, but still, you're a lucky duck. ;D

I just remembered another close encounter with a TV celeb. When I was in NYC and Benjamin Bratt was on Law and Order he jogged right past me. I might even have gotten some hottie perspiration on me. Definitely felt the breeze of his passing. Twas a nice view watching him run off from behind. Mmmm.

Haha! I remember that too, but I didn't watch TYATR. I still recall seeing him, though. I was an NBC soaps gal. Days of our Lives, Another World, the short-lived Texas, the slightly longer, but still short-lived Santa Barbara ... good stuff. ;D

@Lhethal: DH was a fan of Breaking Bad. Very passionate about it. I have a hard time getting hooked on things that are dark and amoral. Not that I judge them or the people that like them, it's just me. I was hooked on OZ and then on the Sopranos and I just feel like I can't take the lack of a real "good guy".

Are you in Korea, Lhethal? What kind of shows do you have there?

message 38: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 71 comments I would have been just like your sister, Danielle. :)

I am pretty sure that Anthony Edwards was my only celeb run in. It was kind of surreal. Ha ha.

I did once see Craig from Days of Our Lives at an outside mall in LA. Didn't go up to him though. ;)

message 39: by Pallavi (last edited Oct 16, 2013 09:39PM) (new)

Pallavi (threequartersthedevil) | 13 comments @Beanbag: Yeah, Breaking Bad is pretty dark. But then I always gravitated towards shows like that. Cause u know they cover that whole forbidden realm. At least forbidden to me :) Also, the dry humour interspersed in grave situations fanned my craze.

And nope. I'm from India. Just going through this phase of Korean Drama addiction. I love that they don't stretch out, like 20 episodes max. (You'd have to watch Indian soaps to appreciate that. The plot has been beaten to death and then some and still we're seeing the love triangle in the third generation of the main protagonist.)

Most of them are cute. They don't make much sense actually. Extremely typical plots, packaged in a way you'd be loathe to even pause between episodes. Just good time pass, with the whole AWWWWW factor to it. I think RomCom is the prevalent genre.

But there are a few that'd blow your mind to individual neurons or something.

I'd be glad to recommend :D

Hehe. We used to go to Comic-Con every year, so I've been fortunate to meet a good number of celebrities, or at least be in the same room with them. Don't hit me, but I sort of forgot!

Don't know what I'd do if I ever met Benedict Cumberbatch, Idris Elba, or Christian Bale!!!

message 45: by Beanbag, Gabe's babe (new)

I've only watched the first two episodes so I've got some catching up to do. He still hasn't changed clothes, though? While the Revolutionary War gear looks good on him, I'm dying to see him in some faded jeans and a form-fitting thermal. ;p

message 46: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 71 comments Oh, it is definitely creepy, Beanbag. I do watch it in the dark but can't watch it alone. I need to have my husband by my side. He isn't much into tv but as long as I'm near him, I feel better. :)

I read somewhere the the clothing will probably stay around for awhile. It is something Ichabod has to hold onto in regards to the past. He is still adapting to the 21st Century. However, I totally agree. How hot would he look in jeans!? ;)

message 47: by Beanbag, Gabe's babe (new)

Beanbag Love | 298 comments Mod
I could see that about the clothes giving him some comfort. Although he's never tried stonewash, but whatever. ;D

Yeah, I don't even want to watch it at night time, that's how big a wimp I am with scary things.

When DH and I watched Cabin in the Woods, I went to IMDB and read the whole synopsis so it wouldn't scare me so badly and we also watched it on the smallest TV in the house. I still got creeped.

message 48: by ♡Karlyn P♡ (new)

♡Karlyn P♡ (karlynp) | 39 comments Oh yeeeesssss, he would look HOT in a pair of tight jeans and a flannel. :-) The last episode his side-kick Abbie made a passing commented to him about changing clothes, so we will see where that goes. The show is going on a 3-week hiatus in the US due to the world series (I believe it will continue in the UK), so we will just have to wait.

I am getting used to the dark/creepy aspect of it. I like that part of the show is a stretch, in other words it doesn't take itself overly serious, which actually makes it easier for me to watch. And it has some humor, which lightens it up. I watched a couple episodes of American Horror Story season 1 and OMG that show is SCARY! Dark and serious, no jokes, and pure creepy.

message 49: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 71 comments Beanbag - I love Cabin in the Woods. See, that one didn't creep me out like Sleepy Hollow. Of course, it is Joss Whedon and I knew it would have some funny aspects to it...which it did.
