Phillip III (phillip_tomasso) | 6 comments My name is Phillip Tomasso. I have been writing novels since 2000, when my first, MIND PLAY, was released by a small Californian press, Dry Bones. I am currently under a 7 book contract with Severed Press, focusing primarily on zombies!

Shannon Thompson (shannonathompson) | 15 comments I'm Shannon A Thompson. As many writers can say, I've been writing as long as I can remember. But I began taking it seriously when my mother passed away. I was eleven, but I knew I wanted to spend my life doing what I love. Since then, I've had one novel self-published, a poetry collection published, and my trilogy signed. Minutes Before Sunset was awarded Goodreads Book of the Month, and my publisher is about to release book 2 of A Timely Death trilogy. I really want to help other writers get published and follow their dreams, so I manage a blog (http://www.shannonathompson.com) for readers and writers to come together and talk.

Anne Parks | 1 comments Hi, I'm A.L. Parks, and my debut contemporary romance, Strangers, released on Sept 6th (my birthday!). It is about two people who have lost their soul mates tragically, and have given up on love. They become best friends, and navigate the murky waters of grief and love. I am hard at work on my second novel, The Return, that will be released on Dec 6th. It centers around a divorcee holding on so tightly to the past, that she nearly misses out on her life. She returns to the vacation home where she first discovered her husband's infidelity, and must deal with the memories. Along the way, she learns that the parts of her life she thought were important were all a facade.

David Monette | 9 comments Hey all,
I'm an author and illustrator as well as an adjunct professor at a local community college. My highly detailed fantasy and science fiction work has appeared in many books, magazines, board games, and collectible card games for such varied publishers as Dell Publishing, Wizards of the Coast, and Atlas Games.
While receiving my MFA in Illustration a few years ago, my instructors reviewed my written work and strongly suggested that I combine my writing ability with my talent as an illustrator to chart my own path. To check out all this stuff, artwork, novel, etc... feel free to stop by my webite: http://davidmonette.com/ Thanks a bunch!David Monette

message 9: by Stinna (new)

Stinna Moore (stinnamoore) Hi all. So, I'm an introvert, sometimes to an extreme. Even on the internet I can shy away from social situations--which isn't in my favor as a self-pub author, but I'm working it. Anyway, I'll try not to be too shy. So, um, here goes... I'm Christina from Maryland, a stay-home mom with a rowdy 2-yr and a dear husband just getting through his second bought of cancer within a year of each other. I'm published twice under a pseudonym in another genre, but as Christina I have self-published the first in my urban fantasy series, Beautiful Death, just earlier this week. I suck at self marketing and hope to fix that. This seemed like a good group to start with. ^^

message 10: by Stinna (new)

Stinna Moore (stinnamoore) You're a dear! I hope my writing is up to your endorsement. I'm happy to send along a free pdf (or kindle gifted). That goes to anyone reading this too. I gave away about 60 downloads this week, I figure eventually someone will leave me a review, right? ^^

I got your facebook page link earlier today too, thank you. I'm going to have to add "The Hand that Feeds" to my current overflowing to-read pile, just my genre. Anyway, I'm at www.thebeautifuldeath.com, all book info and other junk's there.

message 11: by Angie (new)

Angie | 12 comments Christina I've been to your web site and it all looks really good, I've downloaded a sample of your book as well.

David, I went to your site as well, your illustrations are brilliant, but I'm going to get your book in paper rather than a kindle book because of the pictures. So it'll have to be next week as I've bought to many this week!

Daniel (misterwrite) | 5 comments My name is Daniel P. Coffman. I am an at-home dad to two Autistic boys, whom I also homeschool. I've been writing since childhood, but finally decided to pursue publication after my wife published two books while I still dawdled with various projects.

My first book, Four From Below, is a collection of horror short stories. It is available on Kindle and in paperback, both through Amazon and CreateSpace. (Although I prefer CreateSpace because I have a larger profit when paperbacks are purchased there.)

Alexa Keith (alexakeith) | 4 comments Hi All!!

I'm Alexa Keith. I haven't released anything yet, but I'm working at putting my debut novel out the summer of 2014. It's been a dream of mine to publish one of my stories, and I'm following it. I love to write romance, and have so many characters in my head, I find myself talking to them.

Hmmm, wonder if that's normal. :)

I'm not very good at putting myself "out there". However, I've been told by a few authors and my editor, that I needed to start. So, here I am. :)

Here is link to a story I'm working on-
https://www.goodreads.com/story/show/...

Would love to hear any feedback, good or bad. Please note- these are before my beta's got their magical hands on it.

Also, here's a link to my author Facebook page-
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Alexa-...

Please stop by and "like" or leave a post. And, I will do the same for you. :)

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks Michael for giving us indie authors a chance to put ourselves out there, painlessly.

Thanks, Alexa :)

Shelly (Knowlton) Jones (shellyknowltonjones) | 2 comments Evening, everyone! I'm Shelly, and I have a different story-I am NOT a writer. I've never had a heavy interest in writing, and I am not versed in the correct "format" to write a book. But. I was blindsided by cancer 3 years ago when I was 35-and I began a journal. And I journaled EVERYTHING. While I was trying to be a Mommy, a wife, and still kick some cancer ass, I realized how very little information there was out there for young women going through the hell I did. SO I ended up publishing my journal....no sugar coating-I told it ALL. I did not clean up my language, I didn't hide my feelings. I have self published, and since January have sold 700 copies. I still feel that more women need to read this book and become knowledgeable in all things cancer.

Thanks for taking the time to read this all :)

L.J. Sealey (ljsealey) | 3 comments Hi everyone. I am L.J. Sealey and I'm a newbie to the self publishing world. I have my first novel coming out a little over 2 weeks, so I'm sure you can imagine that all i've been doing is promoting and promoting, so much that I can't even remember what I actually wrote about! I'm kidding. But that's how crazy it is at the moment.

My debut novel Awaken is the first book in my Divine Hunter series Awaken (Divine Hunter #1) by L.J. Sealey and is releasing on 19th November. I write paranormal romance and urban fantasy.

Here is my website: www.ljsealey.com

Thanks for creating this group Michael :)

Being Indie means doing a lot more self-promotion, but I like having control over every creative detail. It also definitely makes me appreciate my readers/fans more. LOL. Loving it so far.

My blog is at http://annabayes.wordpress.com
I'm also a Twitter addict (@anna_bayes) http://www.twitter.com/anna_bayes

message 29: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca McCray (RebPai) | 8 comments Michael wrote: "Please tell us a little about yourself."

Hello! I'm fairly new to Goodreads and pleased to find this group. After moving around a bit, I've settled (for now) in the western part of the US. I'm an avid reader (fantasy, sci-fi, mysteries, culturally-based stories), though I have much less time to read than I'd like due to a demanding full-time job and my writing.

My story is slightly different to those above. I was heavily into the arts in my school days (music and writing), but an injury abruptly ended my music career. I was young (early 20s) and devastated, so I abandoned the arts for a while. Despite that, my head was always creating stories, which eventually necessitated my journey back into writing.

I have published my first novel. I'll put the link, but no obligation to check it out. For me, I feel like I was lost for years and have finally found my way back to what I was meant to do.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GV3D7J6

Oh, I should say that my book is fantasy with hint of sci-fi.... or maybe that's the other way around. It doesn't quite fit in one or the other. While I read various genres, my imagination exists in this one.

Jane Peskara / Audrey Valentine | 31 comments Hi all,
I am not that new, i am here since hmm october or so :) but i just found this thread so here is all you need to know about me, well not that much: I am 23, i write since i learned to write and that was when i was 7, i always loved books, nowadays Thriller and Lovestories, i read about 210 books(teen and child books not included). And what i love besides reading is writing well i finished 10 stories and due to my mental health problems i never had the energy and the courage to try to be published, but thats my biggest dream!! so i am now much on the net like twitter, FB, YT and try to get known, i have no money at all so it will be hard to self publish but also to be published by a publishing house, you have to sned ur book to them etc. and i am not that good with feeling i am not good enough, anyway enough selfloathing and selfpitty :). I would be very thankful if some of you could take a look at my homepage and my other networks, comment, share, like. thx to all of you and stay true be you, peace

James Corkill | 23 comments Hello, Jami. Nice to meet you. Good luck with your series. I'm currently writing the third episode of my Alex Cave series. They are sci-fi mystery thrillers involving advanced ancient technologies, (the sci-fi part of the series). Ironically, episode two, Cold Energy, deals with a sudden increase in the size of the Polar Ice Sheet and the affect it would have on the planet. When I wrote it this last November, I had no idea the events in the story would relate the extreme weather conditions happening around the world right now. It is not my fault, I swear. Best of luck.
James.

Jami Brumfield | 3 comments Hello James, nice to meet you too. Sounds like a really interesting book series (even though you brought on this cold front lol)... I will check it out.

I just finished my second book in the series (Vampire Princess in Training) which is undergoing the editing process as we speak. I find series are so much to write and read!

Best of luck to you.

From the Amazon Bestselling author of Missing, comes a riveting new psychological thriller.

Blake Campbell an antique storekeeper had been found lacerated in a threadbare wedding dress in the heart of her late husband's home on Miller Avenue.

And four women find themselves tied to the investigation.

Detective Rachel Olson believes it’s a wedding night gone wrong. Criminal law professor Claire Fisher thinks it’s the ex-wife. Psychologist Lisa Patterson is convinced it’s the disturbed son. And District Attorney Regan Sinclair has her money on the governor.
