Any members here and there who've imported their GR books & reviews to BL and not edited their BL content?

Would you be willing to post a link to your profile page?

I'd love to look at the BL shelves of people who've done this, just to see what their LB profile looks like.

Any additions information, such as mentioning any missing books/content would be wonderful.

I think this option isn't open to me if I want a decent record over on BL, but I'd love to see what unedited importing looks like for some GR to BL members.

The only edits that I did was to add a title to my reviews and to add about 5 covers to book titles. Otherwise, this is how it came out. You're welcome to check it. Overall, if there is missing data I haven't noticed as yet http://mikela.booklikes.com/

Petra, Did you have to tag all your books to get them on your made reviews link/tab/whatever it is?

The something fishy on my end is feeling like a fish out of water!! ;-)

I only tag things as I come across them. I don't care if everything is 'correct' or not. I have the book data and reviews here and on a spreadsheet. They imported into BookLikes and if my attention is drawn to one for any reason I will tag it and may rewrite or otherwise alter it, otherwise they just are as they came.

So not all your reviews are tagged as reviews?

Maybe this is good for my brain. I'm struggling with learning the place, though Chrissie and others have been a HUGE help.

I don't know if they are or not. I haven't looked. I didn't have any problems with the import, it just took a long time. Everything looks ok. I don't really care if it is totally accurate in four places - GR, LT, BL and the csv. Two is fine - GR and the csv.

Lisa, I believe BL marks all your imported (from GR, anyway) reviews as "reviews" automatically. Any additional tags have to be added manually. (I've actually wish-listed the ability to bulk-tag multiple reviews...)

That's the way it happens, yes. "Old," imported reviews are automatically marked as reviews, for "new" ones you have to check off a little box to the right of your text entry/editing field to expressly mark it as a review. (You can also check off a box for an automatically added general spoiler warning there.)

Lisa, I imported my GR list, but somehow around 400+ books 'fell off' in the import. I haven't had the time to back and fiddle with it yet, so it's all whatever came through on the import.

Thanks for that information, Carolyn. I know the same thing would happen to me. I have so many books that don't have and never had ISBNs. Etc.

I wish all these sites would take author, title, date read, and review, and shelves too, catching it by title & author, even if there is no ISBN. But none of them do.
