Oh yes!!! This is a must read. I read this book many years ago and I loved it. I still recommend this book on a regular basis to my coworkers and anyone I see looking at Wally's books in my local bookstore.

She's Come Undone, is also a good read!

Wally taught writing for years to students in highschool. His writing flows very smoothly and seamlessly from sentence to sentence. A pure joy to read a book written by a writing instructor. You'll be able to tell immediately he is a writing teacher.

Give his books a try! Definitely worth it!

I've loved all of Wally Lamb's books. The hour I first believed was very good also. I'm starting we are water tonight. I haven't been disappointed yet.

This is the only one of his I've read, and I did really like it...but it was just so long, and it seemed that some parts weren't even necessary. Are any of his other books like that, kind of overly descriptive?
