Julia (missjulian) | 2 comments Hey all! I've just finished reading MasterStroke by Dee Ellis, a writer new to the field it seems. The point of difference, and one I found very interesting, is that it's a very sexy romance, with lots of sex (although much harder than Fifty Shades), and with lashings (excuse the pun) of BDSM but it's also a thriller - a mystery about the art world (I won't give too much away). I'd love to get recommendations on any other Fifty Shades-types books (that is, bondage, etc) but with a plot. Thanks for any help you can give.

Mike Smith | 12 comments I just read the Submissive trilogy by Tara Sue Me. I loved it. If you liked FSOG, then I think you would love this series as well.

If you are looking for something similar to fifty shades i would recommend the The Crossfire Novels by Slyvia Day which starts with Bared to you... Lots of sex, but i found the plot amazing. I could not put the books down!

book junkie | 10 comments Here are some BDSM trilogys that I enjoyed....
Anything he wants - Sara Fawkes
Steel and Lace- Adriane Leigh
Complete Me- J Kenner
You are Mine- Leann Lane
Tears of Tess -Pepper Winters
Beneath this Man -Jodi Malpas
Temptation - KM Golland
I hope this helps some

message 5: by liz (new)

liz I have read the above recommendations and I totally agree with them, as I have devoured all but two that are mentioned in the three posts above.all great books! One that is not mentioned but that may interest you is the " up In Air" trilogy trilogy . STEAMY SEX, a little short on a GReaT plot, worth the read, none the less. However, for a book with more of a plot, I would also recommend the Consequences trilogy..especially if you'd like an interesting plot with a bit of mystery..hope you find what you're looking for.

Charlie B. | 93 comments not so much a plot as a descent into submission with a twist BDSM The Pain and the Pleasure by Charlie B.

message 9: by Ashen (new)

Ashen (AshenWhite) | 6 comments Consume Me

Here's a novel I thoroughly recommend.

message 10: by Michael (new)

Michael Stephenson | 32 comments I don't want to seem too pushy, but my own book, A Negotiation of Wounds (Negotiation Series, #1 . Has a plot with BDSM sprinkled through it. It is about the high-stakes game of Hollywood divorce, similar to shows such as Scandal and The Good Wife.
Actually, my book will be free next week from November 15th to November 18th on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Negotiation-Of-... . I would love it if you checked it out. The cover isn't much because I've had a hard time agreeing with designers about what the cover should entail as the two worlds of divorce and seduction are both pivotal to the plot.
Also, I would suggest Beneath This Man. I found the story similar to FSOG and with an engrossing plot.

Carrie Ward (CarrieAnneWard) | 1 comments A Taylor made student... Yeah that's shameless self promoting

Fictional romance story with bdsm, written by a Real life submissive. 3 parter only one book so far

Leann Lane (leannlane) | 10 comments You know who I really enjoyed after 50 shades of grey?

there hasn't been a single one of her books I didn't enjoy :) Club Shadowlands (Masters of the Shadowlands, #1) by Cherise Sinclair

message 14: by Angela (new)

Angela The best ones I've found are:
This Man Trilogy - Jodi Ellen Malpas
Crossfire series - Sylvia Day
Up In The Air Trilogy - R K Lilley
Knight - Kristen Ashley
Master of the Mountain - Cherise Sinclair
Insufferable Proximity - Z Stefani
The Billionaires Obsession - J S Scott
Gabriels Inferno/Rapture - Sylvian Reynard
A Table For Three - Lainey Reese
Knight and Stay/Play - Kitty French

Ivanhoe Jones | 10 comments Hi Angela
Thanks for posting your recommendations. I have been involved in clinical counselling for more than twenty years and I am enthralled by any book that deals with all the aspects of the human spirit including sex. Erotica with great characters, not one dimensional cardboard cut-outs can make for very interesting reading, so if you know of any books that would fit this category I would appreciate it. Thanks.

message 16: by Mike (new)

Mike Smith | 12 comments Ivanhoe, I would recommend:

Comfort Food by Kitty Thomas
The Bonus by AJ Adams
The Dark Duet series by CJ Roberts

All of these are well written and include very complicated characters. I've just started reading Consequences by Aleatha Romig which I've heard a lot of good things about. So far it is certainly interesting. Still not sure what I think about it yet.

message 17: by Ivanhoe (new)

Ivanhoe Jones | 10 comments Hey thanks Mike I appreciate the feedback. I'm trying to get a good understanding of how good erotica writers build their characters.

message 18: by Ritz (new)

Ritz (SerenityWash) | 1 comments I suggest ALL of Cherise Sinclair's books. That woman is a genius. :D Also from Shayla Black. Both are masters at BDSM erotica. :)

I have read a lot of books by both these authors and yes they are book very good

message 20: by Lucy (new)

Lucy Felthouse (cw1985) | 5 comments Kay Jaybee and K D Grace both have some very good BDSM stuff. I've also penned a couple myself ;)

message 21: by Rachal (new)

Rachal Cuomo | 2 comments I love the honor series by teresea mummert! Amazing books almost like FSOG but with a teacher and student.

message 22: by SimplyƝì₭ (new)

SimplyƝì₭ (simplynik) I have to recommend the Beg series by C.D. Reiss. Very intense, erotic, chick lit and sensual.

message 23: by Daphne (new)

Daphne Chennault (daphnech) | 6 comments I would recommend "Topping From Below", by Laura Reese. It is a tale of a woman whose sister is found dead. The woman suspects her late sister's boyfriend whose sexual tastes are decidedly twisted. In order to get him to confess she willingly becomes his lover!

message 24: by Larry (new)

Larry Southwick | 11 comments The books by Nikki Sex are fabulous! Her character, Andre Chevalier is a Dom of the first order, and he is filled with compassion and care, bound up with strength and determination. "Bound and Freed" is excellent, as is "Carmen's New York Romance", "Fate" and "Kink." the last two should be read in order.
If you want your romance with a bite of bdsm, but with heart and soul, read a little Nikki Sex. She is fabulous!

Hi Julia, I think you'll find my new book, Descent Into Darkness , spot on. It's the first in The Written Pictures of which the first 4 are already written but only one so far released.

A good book should stoke the imagination without steamrollering it and make you feel the characters whether through loving or loathing them.

Descent Into Darkness (Written Pictures, #1) by H.A. Kotys

Feel free to drop me a line :)

message 26: by Daphne (new)

Daphne Chennault (daphnech) | 6 comments I would also recommend my book, Super Submission. It is the story of a super heroine who willingly submits to a super villain after he threatens to exterminate her teammates. Her submission saves lives, but forces her to go through some tantalizing changes.

message 27: by Gina Drayer (new)

Gina Drayer | 1 comments I really loved the Wicked Play series.
The first: Bonds of Trust (Wicked Play, #1) by Lynda Aicher

The characters are older and it's all set in The Den, an exclusive BDSM club. The first one was good, but I really enjoyed the second one.

message 28: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Satin | 1 comments The Ravishing of Beauty is dark, steamy Beauty and the Beast erotica. It'll make you scared AND turned on! It's also FREE on Amazon 8/30 and 8/31. You'll never see the original fairy tale the same way again either! http://amzn.to/1ktCeFc

Here's a quick synopsis:

Belle's choice to become the Beast's prisoner changes her in ways she never imagined.

After her Beast transforms back into his human form, they eagerly explore each other’s bodies. He can caress every inch of her and probe his tongue deep between her lips. She can feel the warm bulge of his muscles and run her fingers through his red-gold hair, but it’s not enough. Their sexual affair began long before he was human, and Belle can’t help remembering what it was like to be with her Beast. She learned to love him through all the blood and sacrifice it required. Belle and Prince Adam must learn to find new ways to express their desires.

H.A. Kotys | 13 comments Just as an update, three weeks since Descent Into Darkness was released and the reviews are starting to come back now. So far 6 reviews back in Goodreads and all at 5/5 - there will be more in the next few days as people finish reading. I'm getting some amazing feedback on Facebook.

Check it out, the first 3 chapters are free using Amazon's Look Inside feature.

I second, or third, that motion! Both these authors are masters at this genre. I'd also recommend Joey w. Hill. Her contemporary, Knights of the Board Room series, also are thick with plot as well as characterization.

message 32: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth SaFleur | 22 comments Joey W. Hill's Knights of the Board Room are excellent. Deep POV with a lot of plot. In particular, Honor Bound and Willing Sacrifice. Enjoy!

Lin #Historical lover...❤️ masters at arms series by kallypso masters is a series of great books with a bdsm theme.

if you love American war heroes that is a bonus.

she has excellent ideas so her stories were hard to put down... but she gets very repetitive as if you could forget the major issues the characters face. if you can handle grandpa's stories about how he met grandma and his time in 'Nam you should have what it takes to look past the repetitions and enjoy the stories.

message 34: by Jillian (new)

Jillian Verne (goodreadscomjillianverne) | 13 comments Hello Darlings! I am reading The Saint by Tiffany Reisz. Love it, but the priest thing makes me shudder a little bit. Eighteen years of Catholic school. What can I say? And remember, all shuddering is not bad;)

Another one I would label a classic and inspired me to write my own series is Wicked Ties by Shayla Black. Her "Jack" is straight-up, Bayou hot, cher.

The Dom's Dungeon turned me on and made me cry at the same time. I found it a little deeper in the character development than some of Cherise Sinclair's other novels.

If you want one that is riveting and downright disturbing, try Comfort Food by Kitty Thomas. This one lacks consent so skip it if you're not into that type of book.

Happy Day! Jillian

We definitely have similar tastes. I loved, loved, loved, Shayla Black's Wicked Ties. Another good one that I'm *almost* done with is Wanted by J. Kenner. Evan Black is mysterious and a touch dangerous - just my kind of hotness. ;-)
