War had left the Earth devastated. Through its ruins, bounty hunter Rick Deckard stalked, in search of the renegade replicants who were his prey. When he wasn't 'retiring' them, he dreamed of owning the ultimate status symbol - a live animal. Then Rick got his big assignment: to kill six Nexus-6 targets, for a huge reward. But things were never that simple, and Rick's life quickly turned into a nightmare kaleidoscope of subterfuge and deceit.

Simon (friedegg) | 39 comments My first PKD book I read. Now having read quite a few others, it doesn't stand out as being one of his best. Funny how this is the one that most people know.

Bill Wellham (stereodeluxe) | 35 comments I agree Simon. It feels a little small compared to 'Man in the High Castle', and my favourite 'A Scanner Darkly'. Still years ahead of his time though. I love the way PKD writes his characters having the same social hang-ups and paranoias as today's society. The future doesn't change humanity that much.

I guess movie releases always give a novel some fame.
