Mollydee | 23 comments I am so sorry I am trying to understand. First of all I love challenges. I just, after a 14 years of not being able to read due to disabilities, and this past June I was able to read again. So goodreads was like finding gold! Anyway, I joined near the end of September. I did not want to set a goal because I figured I only had 3 months. But I set a goal and met it, so I set another, then another!

So for 2014, I have the Top Ten Horror Books on my list as made by the Horror Afficianados group. I have an A-Z list number one which is books I picked and books that some friends suggested. A-Z list number 2 is all books on suggestions from friends and authors only. All genres. (if you have a book you love, let me know!) I have posted the start of list one (instead of running 1/1/14/-1/1/15 because of the A book, list one runs 10/29/13-10/29/14. Please read about it on my blog and suggest a book or two. I will list the book put your name up on my blog

http://Mismatchedbookends.com/Blogspo...

So this seasonal theme. I see point values. I looked back at old posts but do not understand. And when does the winter one start and how many book are we supposed to read? HELP!!!

Welcome, Mollydee, please see SRC Explained and Getting Started. Those should provide an overview. The Winter Challenge will begin on December 1 and run through February 28. We will not know the number of tasks and books until the end of the Fall Challenge, but in very general terms the challenge has around 60+/- tasks and requires 70+ books and each task has very specific parameters.

The winter challenge begins December 1 and runs to the end of Feb./14. There is no set number of books. How much you read is up to you. You choose a number of points you would like to earn or achieve, or just read and enjoy the experience, and see what total you end up with. It is helpful if you choose a few activities ahead of time from the list of Tasks, and find books that meet the requirements for each task. That is what this thread is for. Also, most tasks have a help thread posted within the task, so you can ask for help if you are unsure if your book fits the task requirements. You need to post your task when completed in the completed tasks thread. It is a good idea to look at others that have been posted to see how to set up your post. To start, why don't you pick one task that you like, find a book and then see if it fits your task. There are lots of people who will help you, including me, if I can. Each task has a verification thread where you can post with the person who set up the task and will approve your book, if needed. Some tasks require more than one book. Sometimes there are multiple options to choose from, within a task-so you have to read the individual tasks and find one that you think you can do. Hope this helps. It is very confusing starting out. I remember!
