Jaimey (jaimeygrant) | 74 comments Here's a crazy idea: We have our twitter group(s) and our Tag Team, why not a Blog group? If I understand searchengines correctly, a blog with more followers will rank higher in searches...or some such nonsense. Exposure is what most of us need to sell books. And most of us have links to various purchasing options on our blogs. Not to mention all the lovely content we include on our blogs.

What does everyone think?

Here's my main blog: http://jaimeygrant.blogspot.com
My reviews blog: http://romanceoldschool.blogspot.com

PS If I'm totally off on how searchengines/blogs work, feel free to GENTLY correct me. LOL :o)

I haven't a clue how the rankings work, but my blogs have climbed the ranks along with the number of followers... so I'm game! Anyway, people follow links, so they click on your followers to find out who they are and end up on a blog they'd never have discovered otherwise... it can't hurt.

I was already following the first blog... now I am following the second one too :o)

Here are mine:

My general blog: http://ginacolliasuzuki.blogspot.com
My Old Man Grumpy blog: http://dieneighbour.blogspot.com
My Japanese art blog: http://www.blog.utamarorevealed.com

Jaimey (jaimeygrant) | 74 comments I was already following your first two, Gina. I thought I was following your Utamaro blog but I wasn't. I am now. Such a beautiful blog. (I'm saving my pennies to get your art book. I'm not an artist by any means but my brother is.)

And thanx so much for being my very first follower on my reviews blog! :o)

Daniel | 6 comments Well, as I understand it, search engines will rank websites based on the number of times they've been linked to, so if you're trying to boost your ranking, you might want to try pursuing that approach as well.

I've recently begun trying to raise my own websites link profile - it takes a little reciprocation is all. I'd be happy to link to your guys' sites if y'all return the favor!

Carmen | 18 comments Great idea Jaimey,

I just visited your sites and now I will proceed to link them to mine.

I am an author too of historical/fantasy YA books.

I have two blogs. One for reviews:

The other about publishing with two author friends.

Jaimey (jaimeygrant) | 74 comments Hi Daniel! Great pic for your header. I love old books but most of the ones I have are of the romance-ish persuasion. :o)

Thanx for the links, Daniel and Carmen! I added both of you.

Ha ha, as a guy it's tough to admit this, but I've got a couple of romances in the collection ;)
Can't beat those old covers...

I openly admit that I have a copy of HG Well's "Time Machine" that would fit right in with your collection. ;oP

You have no idea how tempted I am to steal your idea...

Is it my imagination or does it say "YA ROMANCE" on your last cover on the right?

Ha ha! You bet it does... I'm a fan of any and all old paperbacks. Not sure what book it is that I photographed though, I'll have to dig through the collection and find it...

Welcome to the group

I am your very first follower! I also added a link to your page on my main blog.

I also recommend that you add your blog to facebook's networked blogs application. You can get some more followers that way. Use this address (you'll have to allow the app to have access) http://apps.facebook.com/blognetworks... to add your blog.

On another note, if you want to change your blog background, I recommend this excellent site of free ones: http://scrap-e-blog.blogspot.com
They have a wide array of backgrounds, some are a little cutesy but some are just really neat.

Paul My blog on writing in general is here. Also networked on Facebook and with Twitter feeds. MySpace doesn't want to play though.

Yeah, MySpace is annoying for that...

I am following you now, Paul. As a stalker, I should have already been doing that! LOL

message 19: by Paul (new)

Paul Cool, thanks Jaimey. Although if we're stalking each other, does that count? Two wrongs make a right?

message 20: by Jaimey (new)

Jaimey (jaimeygrant) | 74 comments Good question. Sounds like quite the moral dilemma. Perhaps there is a "stalker manual" available somewhere that can advise us in the proper way to stalk each other...

message 21: by Paul (new)

Paul Some great book titles there!

'The Etiquette of Stalking' by A. Lurker

'Stalking - Dos and Don'ts for Good results' by P. Tom

'Cyber-stalking - through byte-sized chinks' by V O Yeur

Hi, MJ! I am now following your blog through google and networked blogs. I'm sorry it took me so long. I missed this post. :o( I also added you to my "Fellow Authors" list in the sidebar of my blog.

Have a lovely day!

message 24: by Jaimey (new)

Jaimey (jaimeygrant) | 74 comments I have accepted your Book Blogs friend request, MJ. Thanx!

Also, if you're not already, can you give my two main blogs a follow? I would really appreciate it.

http://romanceoldschool.blogspot.com (This one is dedicated to book reviews--primarily romance--author interviews and book giveaways.)

Have a great day!
