Tony Parsons Jon Watson was the headwaiter at The Ritz in London. There was a party that night & Eva Turner was there. She was on her 4th husband. He left her very well off when he died. Jon had been working at an Italian restaurant & Eva thought he was a top 10 waiter so she had suggested he go work at The Ritz. He had been working 30 years waiting on Eva’s group of luncheons & Christmas parties. He knew everything about the girls as if they were family. Lily Evans commented that 1 of the group members Ruby was annoying because she would not turn her cell phone off. Eva suggested every on do the same thing. The group for their silliness of letting their cell phones ringtone ring on a frequent basis called each other a Luddite. The elderly ladies discussed with each other how they really did not understand technology especially a computer & how to use emails. On 5/8/2011, the group met & reminisce about how things were in 1940: the Blitz (London bombing), deaths & prison camps, & how they survived, & on 5/8/1945, the celebration victory in Europe. Someone mentioned how about a blog. Jon mentioned a celebration & champagne because most had just turned 80. A toast & comment was made to their dear friend, Lily the Luddite (textile protestor). Welcome to the 21st century, old girl. They all sang For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow.

What a wonderful, wonderful heart felt well written short story. Thank you for the free book, it deserves 5 stars.

Thank you
Tony Parsons MSW
