So I read an article that said that 'pad kid poured curd pulled cold' was the hardest tongue twister.

I honestly had no problems saying it, unlike 'Irish wrist watch'

Know any good ones? :D

Claire (cycraw) | 278 comments My mother loves tongue twisters. She'd get us to try all sorts.
New York, unique, Unique, New York.
Red lorry, yellow lorry.
Then there's the famous 'She sells sea shells on the sea shore, the sea shells that she sells are sea shells I'm sure.'
As a child I loved saying 'Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, a peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked. If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked.' Not much of a tongue twister, but people do have difficulty with it.

The only one I know is the one my hubby keeps repeating. (And I don't see the tongue twister in that one. Well, almost...)

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck
If a woodchuck could chuck wood?

But honestly, most words with French origin is a tongue twister for me as I never know how English people would pronounce it. I tend to use French intonation and the hubby always laugh at me, because no matter how many times he will correct me, I will always repeat them wrong.

It's easier to twist the sentences around and avoid using those. :P

Harmony Kent (harmonyk) @GG: that is so me! I don't do pronunciations too well either.
As a kid, I couldn't say the word 'Prescription', and even as an adult I sometimes cheat and just call it a 'script' ;p
Does anyone remember the bagpot peggy stuff? Where you had to say something as fast as you possibly could? Or am I showing my age here? :O

T.C. Filburn (tcfilburn) | 21 comments My favourite (unique New York) is already here. I don't usually have a problem with them, though - I spent 25 years singing Gilbert and Sullivan stuff (on an amateur basis), which is great for developing rapid diction!

I had to give a speech relating to apocalypticism, and I practiced pronouncing that word numerous times before giving it. :3

In sociology, the idea of 'commodity fetishism' popped up, so I found myself trying to pronounce that. I have some gene from my dad's side that gives me a mushy? voice. I have to concentrate, so I can articulate. xD
