message 1: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments For being the main antagonist of a series we haven't seen much of Galbatorix he's like Sauron, lurking everywhere.

Anyone think it's TOO easy to be an all powerful dictator? All it takes is a few eldunari and your set for an eternal life?

It's sad though that Oromis and Glaedr where slain so easily. They had just decided to come out of hiding they are all powerful and all, they go to their first battle and everything goes wrong at the same time that's a death worthy of the Deadly Hallows battle. LOL.

Post if you think anything I say makes sense.

Ummm. I almost understand the first part. and I do agree that it's sad they died so fast. But i guess they couldn't stay alive. Eragon is supposed to be able to do things himself I guess.

message 3: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments ya i guess the reason they had to die was to truly make eragon the last good dragon rider.

message 4: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (catfanatic) | 133 comments Mod
I guess. They probably would've died if they'd stayed in elf-land. (I need to re-read the books. I don't remember very many names.) Like, gotten some fatal disease or something.

message 5: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments well he did have the disease but glaedr he was SO BIG and little dragon like thron just piked him off

message 6: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (catfanatic) | 133 comments Mod
it wasn't thorn remember? it was galbatorix and his dragon

message 7: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments and his dragon i thought it was just galbatorix
i don't approve of the whole possessed thing it's so unnatural it makes it unnecessary to value your own body
i wonder if he's aware of his surroundings when he's in someone elses body maybe someone could just like walk up behind him and stab him

message 8: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (catfanatic) | 133 comments Mod
i think he was, or else how could he have killed such a good dragon and dragon rider?

message 9: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments ya it was sad especially when oromis said he had his sword to protect him then like he dropped it and glaedr was like diving for it

message 10: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (catfanatic) | 133 comments Mod
huh? I don't quite remember that part...

message 11: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments isn't that wat happened?

message 12: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (catfanatic) | 133 comments Mod
Maybe... I don't remember... lol, I need to re-read them so bad!

message 13: by Jarris1 (new)

Jarris1 | 18 comments im pretty sure that's what happend but i haven't really read it again since it first came out

message 14: by Jarris1 (new)

Jarris1 | 18 comments also if you wanna be an all powerful dictator good luck getting the eldunari galbatrox got lucky he was in the perfect frame of time when the riders let their guard down

message 15: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments i dunno rn't thERE a huge vault of undiscovered eldunari?

"the rock of kuthian"

message 16: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (catfanatic) | 133 comments Mod
yeah, didn't he make the dragon throw up the stones or something? and then take them? or did he just find out where they hid them?

message 17: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments who galbatorix? i think he killed em and cut em out

message 18: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (catfanatic) | 133 comments Mod
I thought that the dragon had to throw them up of them to work...

message 19: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments oh really?

i don't remember

maybe, for the living one's he might have stopped first and made them throw them up

i think it's kinda stupid that he's able to use it, you kno the eldunari is supposed to be the dragon's essense shouldn't the dragon be able to control their own energy and chose who to distribute it to?

message 20: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (catfanatic) | 133 comments Mod
they should, but they can't. I remember someone (in the book, Oromis?)saying something about how the dragons had to reluctantly give him their power or something.

message 21: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments really could u find a direct quote?

message 22: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (catfanatic) | 133 comments Mod
...maybe. give me a few days.

message 23: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments lol, ok

message 24: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (catfanatic) | 133 comments Mod
lol. xD

message 25: by Rohan (new)

Rohan | 88 comments galbatriox with help of morzan took the eldunari from where the dragons had hidden them. he has more than hundred of em. that rock of kuthian thing really needs to work out properly otherwise eragon is screwed.

message 26: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments im perdy sure the rock is the vault of the dragon eldunari

message 27: by Rohan (new)

Rohan | 88 comments mite be even better than the eldunari. keep your fingers crossed!!

message 28: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (catfanatic) | 133 comments Mod
Wait, am I supposed to be confused?

message 29: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments ...no...are you?

what's better than eldunari?

message 30: by Rohan (new)

Rohan | 88 comments well we didn't know eldunari till the very end of brisingr so there might be something better that the reader does not of yet.

message 31: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments you mean since the prophecy was in the beginning?

message 32: by Rohan (new)

Rohan | 88 comments no we came to bout the eldunari in end of brisingr. solembum just told eragon a place to go to when he felt that his powers were not sufficient.

message 33: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments oh so like it has to be something new?

message 34: by Rohan (new)

Rohan | 88 comments i never said that it has to be something new. i just mean that there is a probability of there being something new.

message 35: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments i dunno, i think making something new would make the story too heavy. i already think the eldunari were a little out of the blue

message 36: by Rohan (new)

Rohan | 88 comments but thats my pint. the eldunari was out of the blue and he could get another thing out of the blue.

message 37: by Rohan (new)

Rohan | 88 comments point*

message 38: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments if there's too much stuff, it'll get confusing.

message 39: by Rohan (new)

Rohan | 88 comments i think he has already over complicated things by playing 2 roles at one time. like roran and eragon but i agree the rock of kuthian thing wil make the plot a whole lot more complex and kinda pointless. plus when is his god damn book gonna come out!!!

message 40: by Sarah (last edited Sep 23, 2010 09:11PM) (new)

Sarah Davis (keamymayloken) | 15 comments I think we could have a whole book on Galby, he I think is extremly powerful and was allowed to grow stronger rather then be dealt with early.
I also think along with telling him he couldn't have another Dragon they should have suggested a good therapy sescsion.....I like him:D

message 41: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments yeah. that'd be interesting. maybe get us on galby's side before he turns.

and paolini tried too hard with the prophesies and junk he didn't need. he tried the throw all the stuff that goes into a good book in a mixing pot and didn't think about the actual story.

message 42: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Davis (keamymayloken) | 15 comments I love Paolini don't get me wrong...but there are moments this book is so like...LOTR and Star Wars with it's on twist...nothing wrong with it just kinda perdictable as for all to powerful bad guy:D

message 43: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments yeah. kinda really predicable or seemingly useless.

message 44: by Clary Fray (new)

Clary Fray (girlsoccer86) | 63 comments He based the entire series on LOTR, actually.

message 45: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments yeah...

message 46: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Davis (keamymayloken) | 15 comments Felt more like he based it of Star Wars what with the order of riders..all being destroyed be an evil rider.
An old man who lived in his town training him to be a dragon rider......

message 47: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments ooo. good point.

message 48: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (catfanatic) | 133 comments Mod
lolz. my bro brings up the star wars point ALL the time.

message 49: by Clary Fray (new)

Clary Fray (girlsoccer86) | 63 comments i didnt see star wars....

message 50: by Brianne (new)

Brianne (iliketoreadbooks) | 68 comments ...that's unnatural.
